Jesus The Christ, when he walked this earth, was fully God and Fully man. On The Cross He took all of the sins of mankind into himself. As God can not abide sin in his presence He could not be present in that body. For that time, untill Jesus said "it is finished" and gave up The Ghost, God did, in that sense, forsake Him.

No, not really. This statement is I suppose the starting point for Christian mysticism, which centers on the mystery of the cross, or the "dark night of the soul."
Everything about Jesus' sacrifice is a uniting of the divine mystery to the human experience. To truly love us, God joined with our every experience, and that includes even the experience of abandonment and despair.
Jesus of course is quoting the 22nd psalm, a psalm which St. John of the Cross echoes so beautifully in his spiritual canticle, and like Jesus' own death in despair, the psalmist turns from dust and ashes to hope and the future.
"The poor will eat their fill; those who seek the LORD will offer praise. May your hearts enjoy life forever!"
To experience joy in the human way, one must know suffering - even as a baby, the only thing we can react to is suffering: the cry of hunger. To grant us human joy, Jesus came and knew our suffering. And this human joy, the Sunday joy, is only a foretaste of the divine joy, the joy that will end the reign of suffering forever.

Jesus always had the presence of Heavenly Father with him to help him through his life. However, as part of the atonement, so that Jesus could really know all of our sins and sufferings, God the Father had to withdraw His Spirit and for a time, Jesus had to be alone. That way he would know how to succor and advocate for those who live without the benefit of the Holy Spirit in their lives. Christ didn't doubt God, but when the Spirit of God withdrew, Christ called out for Him because He had never been without that support.
God did return His Spirit as evidenced when Christ said "Father into thy hands I commend my spirit."
Good, thoughtful question on your part.

It was the human nature that Jesus had taken on that caused him to feel this despair.
The Father and the Son are both God, but are completely seperate persons (the Trinity). The all-powerful Father hid Himself from the all-human Son so He, Jesus, could feel total abandonment, as we often do.
ETA: "And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?” (Matthew 27:46). Here, Jesus was expressing His feelings of abandonment as God placed the sins of the world on Him – and because of that had to “turn away” from Jesus. As Jesus was feeling that weight of sin, He was feeling separated from God for the only time in all of eternity. It was at this time that 2 Corinthians 5:21 occurred, “God made Him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God.” Jesus became sin for us, so He felt loneliness and abandonment - separation from God.

He's actually quoting one of the Psalms, which His Jewish hearers would have reckognized begins sorrowful but ends with victory and triumph.
Psalm 22:1,30-31
"1 My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?
Why are you so far from saving me,
so far from the words of my groaning?...
30 Posterity will serve him;
future generations will be told about the Lord.
31 They will proclaim his righteousness
to a people yet unborn—
for he has done it.

Jesus reported this to His Father via fact He had not at all been separated from His Father in the previous this 2d. that they were One via fact the beginning up in the previous time existed. Why I pay attention you ask became into Jesus separated from God the daddy? He became into separated via fact Christ became sin for us and our Father God is a Holy God who can not hook up with or tolerate sin. sure Jesus additionally knew He could be sacrificed. Jesus preached the dominion of God is to hand subsequently repent, turn to God and be saved. Jesus preached that people who believed on Him and referred to as on His call could be saved. Jesus did no longer carry forth, calm down, she'll be precise, I have been given your back, basically take a seat back do no longer something and cruise on as much as those pearly gates!!! there's a reaction it is needed human beings and God does not choose immature Christians who do no longer choose to strengthen up yet choose to take a seat down back, do no longer something and be continuously consumed milk like a toddler. the ten commandments became into not at all discarded while Christ got here, the only factor that replaced became into that Christ gave a further commandment after the 1st it is to love our lord god with all our coronary heart, suggestions, soul and potential and the 2d commandment is rather like the 1st it is to love one yet another as you adore your self.

Jesus took on human form, in his human form he also suffered as other humans and shared the same feelings we as humans do. He felt despair, and he cried out in his humanity to God as all Christians do when we are in despair. He was also teaching us to call on God in our moment of despair.
