Tofu is made out of processed soybeans, it's like bean cheese. (That's the best way I can describe it.) It has a very light, slightly earthy flavor (think of sourdough bread except a way lighter flavor) which can be easily masked with some spices or ways of cooking it. It's really awesome in miso soup, if you've ever had it. If not, you can break some eggs, cut the tofu squares into tiny peices, and then dip them in eggs and then roll them in flour. Fry them over medium heat until they turn golden brown, and then flavor them with ginger dumpling sauce or your favorite sauces. (That's my fave dish.) It's low calorie, high protein, and D-LICIOUS!

It's made from soybeans. It doesn't taste like much. The best way to experience it the first time is in a restaurant - they usually make some really tasty dishes with tofu. Every time I try to make something at home with it, it tastes pretty bad.

Tofu, also called Doufu (often in Chinese recipes) or bean curd (literal translation), is a food of Chinese origin, made by coagulating soy milk, and then pressing the resulting curds into blocks. The making of tofu from soy milk is similar to the technique of making cheese from milk. Wheat gluten, or seitan, in its steamed and fried forms, is often mistakenly called “tofu” in Asian or vegetarian dishes. Tofu has a very subtle, beany taste

It is a product made from soybean curd. It is often used in place of meat in Vegan dishes and it used frequently in Asian countries. It can have a consistency ranging from cream cheese to hard boiled egg white. It is rather flavorless, but that is what makes it so versatile. You can flavor it any way you want! They make cheese and hot dogs out of tofu even!! It can be used in stir fries, salads, salad dressings, soup and any other number of ways. Your imagination is your only limit.

it is beancurd. from soybeans. sort of like the curds of cottage cheese all packed together in a gelatinous substance. it doesn't have much taste. but it has protein. you can put it with tasty things to add protein. often used as a meat substitute. find it in the grocery section cuz it is refrigerated. drain off the liquid if there is liquid.

It's soybean curd. Tastes awful, but it acquires the taste of what it's flavored with. It's very healthy though.

It's made of soy beans and it looks and feels like jello except it has no flavor. You have to flavor it with soy sauce or cut it into cubes and put it in a ground beef dish or something.
