I did! I got it for Christmas two years ago. I played it for like 8 or 10 hours a day for a couple weeks at first. I lost over 10 pounds!! Just don't overdo it. My ankles got so swollen and sore after awhile. But it's a great source of cardio as it gets your blood pumping. Even if you're not good at it and mess up a lot, at least you're still moving and being active! You'll be exhausted after a couple songs, I guarantee it, but it will feel great! It doesn't sound like it's that much work to just move your feet around, but IT IS! Trust me!! There's a lot of jumping, turning, hopping and more involved that really tones up your legs as well.
Make sure you get DDR2. (DDR1 is good but I like 2 better). It also includes a whole work-out program that you can set up. It helps you pace yourself and do weight-loss. Plus it's sooo much fun!!!!

Home versions of Dance Dance Revolution and In The Groove have Workout Modes which counts calorie burning based on your weight and other factors and yes you can lose alot of weight! I started at 220 before I played dancing games and now I am down to 180.
You must equally consider diet along with gameplay. I strongly recommend you consult a phsyician or trainer before you start a diet/exercise plan. Also you can track your calorie burning playing In The Groove 2 arcades by using a compatible USB Flash Drive card.

If you can use DDR long enough (without interruption) and strenuously enough so that you are actually doing aerobic exercise, it might be possible to lose weight. Given the nature of the game, involving many breaks for choosing songs, it's a steep bet that you could lose a lot of weight that way. The best forms of exercise for weight loss are still running and biking for long distances at a time.

Hmm, DDR requires a good supply of water everytime you go there, seen people play for 5 hours straight XD. But yeah seems possible to lose weight from doing that.

I've lost 5 kilos in my first week. It's my 10th day and I have included salad with some protein (eg. egg/ lean chicken) as you suggested. After 4 years of trying, the fat is finally coming off. It truly feels like magic!
Get started today!

yes. lost 60 pounds within a year from playing this game. ate healthy of course. if your going to play this at home, get a decent pad (the one's with foam) to make it more enjoyable. also, if your new it's best to start on standard not light. then when you get the hang of things, start heavy songs and keep at it. you'll lose weight in no time and you'll have fun doing it :)

It sounds like it would be a great source of cardio, but remember you can excersize all that you want but if you are not mixxin a good diet with it you are wasting your time.
