I would feel really horrible about it and it would probably take me back to that moment every time I saw it.

As tragic as this is many people are heartily fed up with being pesterd by Christians and other groups. Many people feel that this is far to "in their faces".
There are bad people who carry guns and possibly have a short fuse.
Bring the two together!!!!
Gunman was the main cause but pestering Christians must carry a large responsibility as well.
Most people want to live in love and freedom but sadly they are never left alone to do so.

I see your point ...that being said the Christians wear a cross because it is a reminder of what their Christ went threw to save them from damnation. It is not to glorify the murder but to remember the sacrifice.
BTW i say their Christ not as an insult I just don't happen to be a Christian. I still respect their beliefs.

I see what you're getting at. The cross is a symbol, not be taken literally, just like the Bible, or the Torah, or the Koran, etc. for that matter. Some extremists think otherwise though...

I wouldn't be bothered by it unless they were doing it specifically to glorify the murder of my son. If that was the case it would make me angry but that doesn't mean that person wouldn't have the right to wear it.

I wear my cross as a reminder of the love that Christ showed to mankind. He gave His gave His life as payment for our sins. The cross I wear shows others I believe in Christ.

If it symbolized their love and gratitude for his sacrifice, and one another, I would be proud.
More like a flag pin on your lapel - symbolizing love of country and recognizing sacrifices made for our freedom.

Whatever floats their boat. Some people need little trinkets and things to remind them of what they believe.
