Red and white make pink....red and blue make purple. Therefor the difference would be that of the latter mixed color. If you are looking for more of a color magick kind of answer...Pink is romantic love. Sweet, kind...etc etc etc. Purple is a power color and is also very seductive. take pink and add blue, then you have purple. the difference is that purple has blue in it, and pink does not.

red + white = pink
red (or pink) + blue = purple

Pink is made of white and red. Purple is made of red and blue. If you are mixing colors, though, pink and blue make a better purple then straight up red. Colors are divided into groups. Red, yellow, blue are primary colors. Secondary colors are made from the first group of primary colors. blue+yellow=green, blue+red=purple, yellow+red=orange. The you have your gray scale, which includes white gray and black.
