If you can see the nest, put the bird back in it...the parents WILL NOT reject it if it has been touched...that is an old wives tale and I am amazed at the number of people who believe this. It may have already fledged from the nest, they usually stay on the ground after they leave the nest, and the parents care for them. If it is fully feathered..then most likely the parents are caring for it. If it is mostly bald, get it back in the nest. If it is tiny and bald and you do not see a nest or cannot reach it...take it to a wildlife rehab and they can take care of it.

You could either keep it or let it die. You can't put it in the nest anymore. The birds mother want except it and will let it die. You could get a box from your house and line it up with hay(straw)or little branches. Then apply something soft like grass. You don't want anything that will stick to the birds feet. I've tried putting it back in the nest but it doesn't work. I guess you'll have to be the mother. Good luck!

Well you can continue to feed it which is going to get harder and harder and soon you will need a cage to put it in as it not be able to survive outside with cats and such around. Or you can try putting it back in the nest, wearing new rubber gloves to hide your scent. But the Momma most likely will kick it out of the nest again because the bird will smell like a human.

if the parent birds have not come to care for it, contact your local wildlife rescue org. or the local humane society. if all else fails, try a veterinarian that specializes in small animals/birds...look in the yellow pages under PET and/ or VET. good luck. Baby birds are hard to keep alive.

it is going to die. it is only a matter of time. think of it this way
if a human baby with no mom fell into a bird's hands they could not save it. just get ready for the funeral, decide where you will bury it and what you will say at the funeral. They always die.
They usually eat moistened bread while they are alive.

DO NOT feed it bread, contrary to other advice. Adult birds are capable of handling this, but baby birds don't have the stomach for it yet. Listen to birdgirl's advice, and put it back where you found it!

call the humane society ASAP!!!! if u don't the bird is likely 2 die!!!!! also it may be illegal 2 keep it if it is native 2 your country. in Canada you can keep starlings and crows. the rest are native(maybe pigeons but that's it)
