Religion isn’t a force per se, the only force we perceive is what someone or something puts into it from the outside but even then it has no force of its own. Physics doesn’t list religion as a force. If no one believed in a religion and no one practiced it, it would become non-existent. This is the case with ancient Egyptian religion for instance and many others. Religion has no power of its own in this regard. Just like ideologies etc, it needs something or someone to create it, uphold it and exercise it. And who can do this? Human beings. And that gives you the answer really.

If there wasn’t any religion in the world would conflicts cease to exist? Would murder and killing, atrocities and oppression no longer occur? No, as long as there are human beings on this planet that make conscious choices of going to war, pulling the trigger, using violence, creating bloodshed and other bad things, it will continue to occur.

Greed, jealousy, anger and other emotions of this nature in human beings is what triggers actions, or force, of violent kinds that leads to destruction. Religion didn’t talk of creating bombs or weapons, it never instructed anyone to do that. Humans however, did and do.

Human beings have the ability to utilise force, and they do. The excuse can be anything, any ideology, religion or politics.

However, human beings have used religion as an excuse to commit multiple atrocities throughout the history of humankind. But my belief, looking at things deeper, is that it has almost always been to cover some different motives which are often triggered by the human emotions I described above.

The asteroid that hit the Earth last year. Oh wait, that was just a movie. Nope, religion has definitely been the most destructive force to humans, ever. Good point.

Yes, Hitler, disease, greed, sex...just for a start. There are plenty more. Also your question is incorrect. First you assume that religion is destructive, which it is not.

The twisting of religion to mean some thing that it doesn't is a destructive force but only if the public is gullible to believe other's interpretations of of what religion is. That is because they are too lazy to find out for themselves.

Kind of like what you are doing asking such a question.

It is embarrassing for you. No?

Yes. The force of entropy is far more destructive than any other. Though I'd say religion comes in at a fairly close second place.

No. Satan is the author of religion and his name means destroyer. Religion is legalism, and demands a priestly hierarchy to get to God. Christianity is not religion, as it is a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Most people are religious instead of Christian. Religion demand conformity or death. True Christianity invites fellowship with God. Those who demand war, killing and subjugation in the name of religion are fools and destined for the fires of hell. No self-respecting Christian will ever promote war and hate over peace and love.

Most definitely.

MORE DESTRUCTIVE THAN RELIGION, IS THE MIND THAT IT MOTIVATES.

Religion does not start wars and guns do not kill, BUT PEOPLE DO.

In the absence of religion, malice and brutality still remain. In the absence of our race, peace and balance take their place.

IT IS NOT THE WAEPON THAT HARMS, IT IS THE HAND THAT HOLDS IT.

Yes, the hatred of God. You name it paganism, atheism, Buddhism, Islam and etc. When you turn away from God, you allow the devil free reign in your life and your families life. Wars aren't waged by Christians. I assume you would rather live in a country free of religious expression, I hear that North Korea is free from any such religious expression, there are a few others too, please feel free to join them.

People that are fanatical that claim they are part of a religion that really aren't and hatred. It's not religion that destroys its hatred that destroys. Religion never hurt anyone but hateful people do (they say oh its my religion!). No its their hatred.
