Dogs can start breeding anytime after 5-6 months. If you don't want any accidents either separate them completely or have them spayed and neutered. If you're looking to breed them, keep them seperate when the female is in heat, but be wary of them even if she's not.. she can still get pregnant. If you're going to end up purposely breeding them, wait until they are at least 2 years old and have their hips examined. German Shepherds are prone to hip dysplasia and breeding them with the problem will only further ensure that the puppies come down with it too. Good luck with them, and again, if you don't want any accidents the only 100% preventative is spaying and neutering.

she can become pregnant her first heat. As a general rule most dogs will come in for the first time around 6 months and it will follow 6 month pattern thereafter. I have seen females that go as long as a year and stay on a yearly pattern but only in well line bred females. Try not to breed untill the second heat as the female still has alot of growing and maturing to do. The males are at the age where they are maturing and more than likely would be trying to hump each other if she was not there,Lol. She could very well be coming into heat though. I would remove her.

the female should be about 1 1/2 years old before you should start to breed her so that she is mature enough to be able to handle being pregnant. she still has a lot of puppy influence going on and you should wait for a few more months to be on the safe side. but as a general rule, it's usually about a year and a half.

YES she is at that age. If she has a vaginal discharge that is pink or red in color and her vulva is swollen, she could definately be in heat. She should NOT have puppies during this 1st heat cycle. We breed Llewellin Setters and don't want our "ladies" pregnant until they are 2 years old. That is our personal preference because it is better for the dog. You should wait at least until her 2nd or 3rd Heat cycle before allowing her to breed with another dog. Female pups can go into heat as early as 6 months old, so be careful.

Every female dog I have ever had went into her first heat at 6 months. They can get pregnant while they are in heat. If you don't want a pregnant dog, she should be closely supervised and protected from all male dogs during this time.
If you are talking about when it is recommended to breed the 2 dogs for profit, you should call your vet, or look up the American Kennel Club.

She should be at least 18 months before she gets pregnant. The boy can probably make babies now, so you need to watch for when she comes in heat and make sure to seperate them until she is old enough to breed.

She can start when she comes into her first heat with can be as early as 6 mos old. There are good odds that if you have not had them fixed, you may have puppies on the way - which is very dangerous for her at her age. If you can't afford to have her spayed, at least get him neutered, which is a less costly proceedure.

SPAY AND NEUTER YOUR DOGS!!! If they are over 6 months old, it's time to make that Vet appointment.
If you are uneducated enough about dogs to even ask this question, you have NO BUSINESS breeding dogs. Leave it to the professionals and don't contribute to dog overpopulation.
Repeat after me, "I do not want to be responsible for the fact that six homeless unwanted pets are put down every minute of every day, therefore I will make sure my dogs are spayed and neutered."

Spaying or neutering is usually done when the pup is 6 months old. Fertility an occur any time around 6 months.
German shepherds are great dogs, by the way.

in common words breed him even as: a million. he's AKC registered. 2. he's a minimum of two yrs old and been examined for all genetic complications in the breed. 3. He has been shown to championship titles. 4. you've written permission from the breeder to reproduce him. in the different case call your vet the following day and characteristic him neutered.
