According to Romans chapter 1 the answer to your question is yes, people who have never heard of Jesus will go to hell; but not all of them.
These people will be judged on what they know, not what they don't know. Those who have sought God, recognized their own sinfulness and trust in His love and forgiveness will be accepted into heaven. Those who boast in their own ways, knowledge and do not give to Him the respect and honor due Him will reap an eternity in hell, or seperation from God. They are without excuse.
So that answers the question about those that have never heard of the Christ. What will you do? You have heard of the Christ and the sacrifice He has made for you. You are also without excuse.
What will you do?

Exactly. I used to be a Christian and I asked this question all the time of my parents and they said no, they wouldn't because they were innocent. Then I'd ask, well, why send missionaries out then? Aren't you dooming them to hell if they choose not to follow Christianity? Just leave them alone.
I'm no longer a Christian nowadays after learning quite a bit in my lifetime (I studied world religions in college) and I'm convinced hell does not exist. In my opinion, hell is earth. The descriptions of hell you read in the bible are based on a description of an actual garbage dump/incinerator that they used way back then. Not some literal place of fire and pain.
Besides there is no way that everyone can learn about "Jesus" because there are many born severely disabled or unable to understand things fully. There are also remote tribes in this world that people cannot reach. There are children who die young before being told about religion. Come on people, use common sense!

Spread the word? So you are saying that if the word doesn't reach our friend who has never heard of Jesus, then it is everybody else's fault that the person got condemned, because they didn't get the word to them?
I don't believe in Heaven or Hell either way, but take a mentally insufficient person for example. If they don't have the mental capacity to learn any language, then how can they receive the word? Life is supposedly our period of judgement, and so our actions decide whether we go to Heaven or Hell. But in the case of the mentally insufficient person, they're worth isn't always going to be proven by their actions, as they don't have full control.
If God is really almighty, then he could judge our spirit without giving us life...so really this lifetime of judgement would just be a waste of time.
Anyway, I'm not just stuck on the fact that i'm right, I could very eeasily be wrong. Afterall, i am obviously not almighty either :P

I believe God loves us, and that He is fair in His dealings with us. If someone hasn't heard of Christ or His Gospel, then that person will have the chance after this life. (For this reason was the gospel preached to them that are dead...) He will then be judged based on what he did with the laws that he DID know during his lifetime.
Deliberately ignoring God or Jesus won't be an excuse to refuse to live the laws that They've given us. Be serious now. Does anyone think God can be fooled, or that He left a loophole in his requirements that allows people to sneak into heaven? This is why I think believing in death-bed repentance is a very dangerous farce.

Of course not. According to what your saying every infant who dies before he or she can understand such a concept would be going to hell. Every person who is deaf and blind would be going to Hell simply for the way they were born.
There is just no way that simply not knowing who Jesus is could possibly force a person into hell. Think about how many Innocent people would be in hell right now if that was the case.
It would simply make no sense

Do you know anyone who has NEVER heard about Jesus? even in general passing? It is impossible to live in this world and not hear about Jesus in one way or another.
Non the less - God is no respecter of person, cutting some unsaved slack while condemning others. Knowing God is a just God, I am sure he has his way of handling any such situation.
I do know that if a Christian is called to the missions and he refuses, every life that slips into eternity without Jesus - that missionary will be held accountable.
As I said - God is a God of Justice and how he handles a situation where people never heard of His Son it is in HIS hands, not your concern, not my concern. Your concern and my concern is to be saved ourselves and share when and how we can, the Good News of Jesus.

The great sadness is that, yes, all who do not come to God in The Way(Jesus) that He proscribes, will be eternaly seperated from God(in hell).
Mankind had many oportunities to obay God. Mankind chose, for the most part, not to obay God. God came one last time, in Jesus, to give mankind a chance. That chance still is in force. But as mankind mostly refused Jesus.... It is up to each to find him... if they are so lost that they have not heard... then they remain lost.
That is why missionaries go so far out to find all they can and give them the last oportunity to obay God
That is why I am on this forum and why I have built the website I have
If you do not know The Good News I can get you started on the way to find it. at:

Well the bible says that Jesus will not return until everyone has heard about him. And nine times out of ten people know of Jesus, but not about him. But to answer ur question, Yes, they will go to hell.

Everyone has heard about Jesus. There are missionaries that travel to teach the word to every country and far away place. God ensures that all will be given the word. God ministers to people in many ways. He uses people, places and things to get his word out. God judges us on our intentions and our souls. God is a fair and just God...he does not sentence us to hell...people sentence themselves to hell. How you live your life determines your eternity.

Some Christians believe that these people will go to hell, others believe they will go to purgatory, and still other Christians believe they will be saved because they're ignorant.
Pick the one you like the best and believe in it.
