It just might be a way for him to express his anger or the surprise of being awake. I am really shaky when someone wakes me up from a deep sleep. It's wierd, but it goes away. Don't hesitate to call your pediatrician. They are there for you and to them no question is a dumb question. Just call and ask if having shaky hands is a sign of anything you should worry about. I'd call. Maybe search on http://www.parents.com/ and see if you can find any info on there. This site is amazing. Good luck!

What kind of shaking? Like trembling on their own, or is he shaking them himself?

My boyfriend actually used to have a need to shake his limbs--it had to do with his heart pumping really fast and the need for him to release so much energy. It turned out he had a heart condition (enlarged aorta). If they're just trembling, it might just be a circulation problem, but you really should still have it checked.
