okay and now how about someone plz answer this question not counting the jackasses that want to be rude about this question curcumsizing a baby is not a needless procedure and its not mutilating a baby. parents do it cause thay love there kids. okay the baby has pain for what 3-9 compared to having pain and being sick the rest of there life i will go with the cercumsion its more healthy and i want both of my boys to grow up healthy unlike most ppls kids. i have seen many kids that are uncircumcized and thay are always at the doctor and stuff cause thay are sick. and in are town besides the hospital the other pieds dont do cercumsions so thay wont be much help there is one person in are town that does tham and she is both of are kids doctor and was my husbands doctor when he was young

Both of my boys were circumcised when they were a few days old. The nurse told us to take a small piece of gauze and a tube of petroleum jelly (vaseline) and draw a circle of vaseline on the gauze. Put this over the head of his penis so that the tip of it (where the urine comes from) is in the center, and the vaseline covers the head of his penis to keep it from drying oout and becoming painful or irritated. We did this for a few days and they both healed up remarkably fast. The good thing about this is that the vaseline coated gauze keeps the head of his penis clean and dry when he poops or pees, so it won't get irritated/dirty. I hope this helps.

Ask to see another doctor or even take your child to the A&E/er department of your hospital (be very calm but firm that you want him seen to properly). I don't think what you're describing sounds normal at all and it really should be healing by now.

Did you not get an information sheet telling you what to expect? If not then if you're worrying unnecessarily then it's the hospital's fault for not sending you home adequately prepared.

See a different doctor! Be aggressive if you must. My son did not bleed at all after the initial procedure.

By the way, I was circumcised as an infant, and I am glad for it.

I really don't know hun. I had both my boys circumsized the day they were born. I do know they seap afterwards, but not really bleed. I would go to a different doctor to get a second opinion.
Good Luck to you all.

The foreskin in a newborn baby is stuck to the head of the penis. So in order to cut it off, the doctor first has to rip it away..... kind of like ripping off your fingernails. Of course it will bleed.

Surgery is for sick people. Leave healthy newborns alone!

It is absolutely not done for health reasons!!! There is no research that shows that to be true!! and it is mutilating! it's against the law to do it to a female, so what makes it right to do it to your sons?? Geesh!

circumsion is a personal parental choice for many health reasons AND relgious reasons, same with uncircumsied boys-so those of you with "issues" about it-keep it to yourself

A circumcision is in essence a wound and it won't heal over night. just keep it clean and dressed and all will be well in time.

I agree - that's what happens when you needlessly mutilate your helpless innocent child. Cruel and needless.
