We've tried putting a onesy on him to keep his hands out of the diaper, but he still manages to get them in there and then he pees the bed.

lol.... boys will be boys...
you might try getting plastic pants to cover his diaper that way if he is getting his diaper off to the side, it should help.
Try cutting his liquids off a little earlier at night, and don't put to bed with liquids.

Do you mean he is pulling the diaper to one side and peeing out the gap? It sounds like he may be ready to try going without. No late drinks, potty and explaining to him that he has to wake you up if he needs to go. What's the worst that can happen, he wets the bed? Good luck with it you will soon be saving a fortune not buying diapers

Have you tried putting the onsie on backwards? He wont be able to unsnap it so easily. My Aunt had this problem with her daughter...she took her diapers OFF...be happy that's not going on. She started putting her diaper on backwards so she couldn't pull the tape off. You might want to get a pair of one piece pajamas and cut off the legs to make shorts if it's hot weather...I hope you can figure something out, good luck!!
