I like my best friends brother and she says he likes me and he always messes with me when I come over but he just got out of like a 3 year relationship. Should I try to hook up with him or should i wait a while since he might be going crazy with his newfound freedom? My best friend likes the idea of us getting together and when she asks him if he likes me in front of him he doesnt deny it. He has also recommended me to one of his friends so I could have a prom date. So what should I do?

p.s. Im 17 and hes 18

I think like you said, give him time to be single, guys at 18 (typically) dont want to be superly tied down, and after a 3 year relationship going back into one would probably create problems somewhere down the road. But dont fall for the...if we arent dating but we like each other, we might as well hook up then, thing either...that can only hurt your chance of getting him later on. You hook up and that might end up being all he wanted then he would move on and he ends up dating some other girl..so play a lil hard to get and take your time...keep him interested until hes ready.....btw you can always talk to him about this, ask him how he feels about dating again or if he wants to be single.

I would wait for a little bit. When you're getting out of a relationship like that, you need healing time or time alone in general to reflect on things. Jumping into another relationship is never a good thing to do. Sometimes pain and issues carry over to the new one because you're not completely over the other. Give the guy some time but make sure he knows you're interested but just want to take things slow with him and do it right.

Go for it, but remember your best friend might get jealous of your relationship because you would be spending more time with him than her. So if you decide to do it be careful. Don't let a guy come between your friendship. And don't ruin a good brother sister relationship because that is more important than your relationship with your best friend or her brother.

if you like him let him know tell him you understand he just came out of a long relationship and you would just like to hang out to get to know each other better, than see what happens and take it slow be care full, oh and one year difference doesn't matter
