Russell, many of us started out where you are now. You are not so unusual. The very best way is like going swimming in a cold pool.. It is more painful if you get in an inch at a time. Far better to jump in with both feet. The pain is intense but it only lasts of a few seconds.

Begin with coming up with a few general topics of discussion that might interest girls. I'm not certain about your age so it is a bit difficult to give you an example that might apply. Let me try a couple for you, you could adjust them to fit your situation:

"Summer (or whatever season it happens to be) is one of my favorite times of the year. What do you have going on this Summer?"

"Have you ever noticed that some days seem longer than others?

"I wonder why there are five school/work days but only two weekend days; I mean who invented a system like that?"

"I've been wondering about other places. Have you ever lived anywhere but here?"

These are a fw examples. The most important thing that you need to know is that you will screw up several times before you get good. We all have are learning curve.

I would suggest you begin with girls that you don't ever see yourself dating. That will take some of the pressure off while you perfect your comfort level.

All that said, the best way, pal, is just to dive in!

Good Luck!

Have confidence in yourself.

where do i begin.

start talking to them, all of them any time to get. like in the store, or on the bus or really anywhere. not to pick them up but friendly conversation. after a while you will just get used to talking to women.

its better if you talk to everyone, and don't be afraid to draw attention to yourself.
