I saw this on doctor phil the other day. . .do not tie up your self worth in someone else. Only give so much as you can afford to still love yourself more. What I mean by that is you can give yourself to someone, so long as they are treating you the way you want to be treated and deserve to be treated. Do not allow yourself to be lost in someone else. Do not forget that you are your own person and not just so and so's girlfriend.

If you can love someone, or give yourself to someone, but still have more of yourself FOR yourself then that's a good place for you to be. The second you feel like you're losing yourself BECAUSE of someone...get out of the relationship because as always you have to put yourself first and foremost. The more confidence you have in yourself and the higher pedastal you put YOURSELF on, the better you will be treated by partners, as they will soon realize that you won't stand to be treated any less than royalty.

you don't. unfortunately if you are feeling used and you are not married, you should find someone else. If you are married, I am sorry to say that you married for better or worse.

give in proportion what your partner's giving.
Don't give him/her more than what they're giving you.
that way it'll be equal.
