Amazon has quite a few books on the Coast Guard but I can't personally recommend any of them. Previous readers usually put reviews about each book on the site. Listed is a direct link to the page. Hope it helps.

You could try Amazon.com, but with the Internet at hand, you might go to Ask.com and type in U.S. Coast Guard, history. Also try Google, as they are the best two sites to look at.
