Bring a photo of what you want to your appointment.

Your stylist obviously doesnt get it. You sound like you explained the style you want to a tee. Go to a different stylist and just for backup, bring a picture. Dont be afraid to be picky either. When she is done, if you dont like it have her fix it. I have side swooped bangs and my stylist usually prefers to do them after my hair is cut, styled and dried. This way she doesnt cut too much or too little. Good luck.
And dont cut them yourself unless you have a pair of professional scissors. Dull scissors will cause split ends.
Also, make sure you tell her which side you part your hair so she can cut accordingly.

If you don't like how she did your hair, I would get a new hairdresser. I had problems with a hairdresser and then I went back to my original one(I stopped going there because it was a little expensive, but now I go there all the time). Explain to the new hairdresser how you want your hair, and that you want Side Sweep Bangs. Show him/her the picture of what you want and ask her for suggestions. She may alter it some to your facial structure. Good luck!

I'm wandering the same thing cuz my hair stylist did the same thing and i absolutely hate it. I even showed her a picture of what i wanted. But the only thing i can really think of to do is to go to a different hair stylist even though i dont want to. I like what she does with the rest of my hair but oh well....

If you want your hair coming down to your cheek, then layered, then that's not side bangs, that's not bangs at all. Just tell your hairstylist that you want your hair a certain length all around then cut into layers. You never should have said bangs, that's probably what threw her/him off

cut em yourself. its not hard, don't be scared. i'd let em grow out a bit then take a triangular section of bangs, probably what you already have, comb them straight out a little up and to the middle. then cut straight across the section. to help them stay to the side try teasing them underneath a little bit with a small barber comb and also try a volumizer in them when they're wet before you blowdry. my sister-in-law and i have perfected the side bangs =) email me if you need help moons_and_junes@yahoo.com

bring a photo like ashley tisdale's side swept bangs and get a new stylist. Go to a good expensive hair salon(they are the best) and don't worry!!!

I did mine myself. I made a part across...for how much hair I want to use. Then I cut straight across, but when I sweep them to the side...it is angled.

Take a pic of a celebrity or buy one of those hairsyle magazines.

i have side bangs and my hair stylist screwed them up, all i did was part them at the side until they grew longer, then i tryed to cut them myself and since only i know how i want them to look. in the end i liked them and everything.

If you showed her what you wanted and she still gave you straight across bangs why would you even think about going back to her?

Hopefully you don't have to wait to go them out some more. But if you don't take a picture and before she cut have her show you where she is going to cute. If she still doesn't get it right get a new hairstylist.
