Well if thats what he wants to do, then go on. I would have him practice on a mini golf course though

You can buy them clubs that fit and will allow them to hit in the backyard.

I'd look for a pitch and putt when they are a little older.

I wouldn't tackle a full size course until they were 10-11.

My local course has golf lessons that start at 6.

My kids find it pretty frustrating and don't really have the patience for it.

My boss was trying to teach his seven year-old and the kid swung when he wasn't expecting it and knocked his front teeth out, so I'd watch out for that.

Hope this helps.

No. My father introduced me to golf when I was 4. It really is a great game to learn at a young age. Because the swing is all about muscle memory, the younger you are when you start the easier it is to gain the correct mechanics.

nope. Its a great age. I started to play soccer when i was 3. I know golf is a little harder but its worth a try!. Just dont force your child if he doesnt want to do golf at the moment.

i think that 5 is a great age to start your child, as long as he/she shows interest in playing. my brother and i both started when we were pretty young. personally, i wouldn't recommend taking him out to play on a course until he gets some experience at the driving range. also, if your child is like most 5 year olds, they may have trouble focusing and staying at a good pace. let them enjoy it at first so they don't lose interest in such a great sport. hope this helps!

Not at all. However, I checked out golf for kids at our local club and they don't start lessons until kids are 8. However, you can still take the kids to putt-putt courses and driving ranges. You can get private lessons too.

If he likes to golf then let him golf. Their really isn't an age limit to golfing. Like I said if he likes it then its fine but just don't push him.
