cause dogs hear like 3 or 4 times better than us so it my not sound loud to u but it is to them so he is scared

I'm not sure but my dog hides when it hears a fart sound. And it doesn't have to smell....he'll hide even when you fake fart with your mouth.

maybe he thinks you are playing with him. Or he's scared cause he heard something else make a similar sound that he didn't like and it scared him at the time.
