What if we carried it around in our purses or pockets?

What if we turned back to go get it if we for got it?

What if we flipped through it several times a day?

What if we used it to receive messages from the text?

What if we treated it like we couldn't live without it?

What if we gave it to kids as gifts?

What if we used it as we traveled?

What if we used it in case of an emergency?

What if we upgraded it to get the latest version?

This is something to make you go...hmmm...where is my Bible?

Oh, and one more thing. Unlike our cell phone, we don't ever have to worry
about our bible being disconnected because Jesus already paid the bill!

What if we tried to read it while we drive?

What if we read it outloud in an overly loud voice while in a crowd?

What if we read it while going through the checkout line, ignoring the cashier and holding everyone up?

I don't have time to read a fictional book, I am too busy living my life. I don't need a book to tell me how to live and how to be a good person. Its not difficult to be a good person without it. When I am hurt or lost I prefer to call for help via 911 or even a friend and not pray somebody comes by sometime. A cell phone connects you to the rest of the world while a bible can seclude you from it. Of the many people I have met in my time the ones that rely on the bible more are the most removed from the rest of the world.
I'm sorry, you can grab your bible...but I am sticking with my cell phone. I can see your point, and it does get a person to think, but no thanks says me

How Awesome, when i read this i was so amazed it is so true and so right. I think this should be one of those email things that just get sent around and around ans spread across the world. In fact I am going to cut and paste it into an email and start it to everyone on my contact list and they can do the same and so on. Thank you so much for this your mind is a great thing. Peace and God Bless you and your Bible!!!!!

What sort of emergency would you use a 2000 year old text for?
Run out of TP?
You hurt your leg and need a footrest?

And what do you mean, upgrade to the latest version? What do you need with the newest version of the Bible?

Wonderful question, thanks.

I did have 2 Franklin computer Bibles and I carried them around like a cell phone and the LCD's got smashed up. I'm believing God for a new one so I can more easily answer these questions.

I hate to say this because you seem well intentioned but this is so smug.
Mind you I would be interested to see if you would be so keen to cart it round with you and flip through it several times a day if it contained some of the 'heretical' or gnostic gospels? I suspect not, doesnt fit in with the whole picture does it?

what would happen? you'd stay ignorant and decieved by christian propaganda. Read A sociology textbook or a psychology textbook. Open your horizons. The bible is garbage
compared to a good psychology textbook. A good psychology textbook will actually help you to understand yourself,
other people, solve real world problems, and deal with reality. The bible claims to do that, but in reality its just escapism and serves no useful function.

Well I'm one of the few that don't own a cellphone so I suppose if I treated any religious text like I treat a cell phone I would find no need for it.

It drop gods call, you would trade it in for the next newest one, You would sign up for a new religion every few years, one with cheaper minutes. There are too many to choose from, Bibles never caused traffic accidents.

I think it would be pretty tough to read the bible, drink coffee & drive all at the same time. At least with a cell phone, you don't have to turn the pages!

Nothing would ever get done. Technology would grind to a halt and we would revert back to being like the third world Muslims that live in the caves of Afghanistan.
