well im turning 13 in august, which is a month away. me and my mom got all the details planed and everything ready. i was gonna have my birthday at bowling, you know simple, i dont want to spend alot of money for my birthday.
i am not sure what i did wrong, i guess that i was just being selfish(which i dont think i am most of the times) and so my mom told me that shes not doing a birthday party for me anymore. she told me to ask my dad to do it for me, even thought my parents are not divorced...
i am so sad, cause i mean this is the year that i become a teenager, not just some stupid old birthday.
im not sure if shes going to change her mind about it.
Any ideas what could I still do for my birthday?
Or how to ask my mom without making her mad at me, to actually think about changing her mind?

well i guess all of this add's that we just bought a new place and my parents a still a little bit low on money, but i dont think thats why she wants to cancel my birthday. she just thinks that im all that and that i only think about myself and no one else. the birthday would only cost about 200 dollars. and she even told me that the price is just right.

First off, you must think hard about how you behaved recently and what you did to make your Mom want to punish you like this. Next, write down all those things and write you are sorry for being selfish, etc... Then make a plea to your Mom not to punish you by cancelling your birthday since this is a special moment in life when you become a teenager, only comes along once. Lastly, offer up some other ways you can pay penance (like do extra chores, offer to pay for part of the birthday with any money you have saved, etc)

Hun, you are no being selfish.
Now your parents could be having financial trouble, I don't know.
I would tell me dad my ideas and go with it. If your mom doesn't want to plan the decorations and cake, you can do it. If you have a walmart any where around you a birthday cake is only 11.00. They will write on it for free.
If it is bowling call the bowling alley and see if they have a dollar bowl night or something like that. The ones around me do. You may have to do it yourself.
Talk to your dad.
BTW Happy Birthday in advance. I pray that it is a good one no matter what.
Maybe you could just spend the night with a friend. :)
