I didn't even finish reading your ideas before I thought of a rich brown. That's how my house is - we have beige walls, light beige furniture, and brown accents.

I would go with a "sage" green or something along those lines. I recently painted my hallway a beautiful earthy green called "dried fava". It looks stunning. I used the same color in my mud room. Get a paint sample, I think you will love it!

ok, at the paint store they should have those books that show rooms painted. Find the one that has some of your colors in it and pick one of the other colors as your wall color. It could be the molding color or whatever.

For me, two colors come to mind...either one would work. A deep burgundy or even a golden, dark mustard.
Sounds like a very nice room will emerge when you are done!

gOOD SELECTION ON THE PAINTING! I like the pale turquoise that appears in the mat. Or is it part of the image? (can't tell.) Red accessories such as an area rug, too!

just from recent experience, dark colors need alot of coats, ie, a deep red, took five coats, with 24 to 48 hours in between

Something vibrant...you don't want too much brown in there. you can pick up the mahogony tones with a nice rustic red. Have fun.
