Jo Sonja paints, which are available at some specialty craft shops and through HofCraft and other online sellers, has a wonderful gold paint. It is Rich Gold, and it's considered gouache which is highly pigmented.

Try also http://www.pearlpaint.com. There are Pearl stores around, but if you don't live near one, shop online. Their Golden heavy body 4 oz jars start at around $7.39 (some are $6) and goes up from there. You can always order directly from Golden (they have an online store), but their prices are about $2+ more on average. Depending on what colors you're looking for, Pearl may have it slightly cheaper versus Dick Blick, and vice versa.

I'd try Jerry's...so far they've beat Dick Blick's prices on just about everything. If not them (availability of said product) you might try Mister Art. Both sites listed below. (my bet's on Jerry's and if you're lucky, it'll be on sale)

I love Golden.
It is expensive but at least here in LA you can find it cheaper at either Dick Blick's or Pearl.

misterart.com has good prices. If you buy a lot of art supplies, it is worth the VIP membership.
