It's like, someone prays for patience or whatever and then they work on being more patient. Then they give God credit for it?
Or a church group does something nice--say they build a house for some poor family--and then say the house came from God.
Why?

You think this also means God gets the blame for the evil we do?
Or God gets the credit, we get all the blame?
How's that for justice?

The situation is odd, isn't it ... Christians credit God for good ... and credit man for evil/bad.
I asked a good friend this question long ago ... he didn't have an answer for me.

While it's true, christians give God alotta credit, it's not necessarily a bad thing. I don't lose faith in people either. I like to think it's because we recognize the higher power that is, and without Him none of it would have been possible in the first place. But that's a belief i've held for some time now. I'd say it's not possible to give the Big Guy too much credit, i mean i believe he put us here and allows us to make the choices we do. And for that I thank him every day :-)
But you're right too, we can't lose faith in one another, i think that's one of the primary reasons we're all here. For eachother, otherwise...it gets kinda lonely...

it really is a unsuitable argument to assert that some thing that existed earlier Christianity won't be able to be claimed to were usual with the help of God. i'm not likely to describe to you why, because once you're going to go back to a public section (of any form) and ask those kinds of questions, try to know what it really is you're asking. also, on what are you basing the actuality "God had to be conceived with the help of guy, first. And, marriage got here even earlier that."? those are some powerful huge assumptions to modern-day as absolute, rather once you're troublesome what somebody else believes to be absolute. EDIT: back, you're treating your own perception as an absolute, as if what you imagine about what's and is not a "human construct" is as obtrusive as 2+2=4. in case you want to have a grown-up communicate on some thing like this, you won't be able to use your own assumptions as a source, till the question is about your own assumptions. yet then that's likely the disconnect--you in common words opt to %. fights and are not fascinated in genuinely know-how some thing.

No matter what anyone here tells you, you wont understand unless you invite God to become part of your life and you truly believe that God exsists. If you REALLY want to know the answer to that, I would suggest going to church. And join a Sunday school class where discussions like that happen.

Faith blinds people to reality. If they allow God to be responsible for their good times, they can blame the Devil for all their bad times. It's unfortunate that people can not give themselves credit for working out their own problems.

If you believe in God, everything that you do and have is because he gave it to you. Its not that he always gets the credit but he's the only one who deserves the credit. At least in my life I always ask for his direction before doing anything at all. Because I pray to him and he tells me whats the best for me, how do I know this? Well its the way my heart feels if it doesn't feel right then its wrong but if my heart is in peace then he's telling me everything is O.K. Read the Bible and believe me your life is really going to change. Bless You....................

Because ultimately God provided the resources to allow stuff to happen... if it were not for God... maybe it would not have coordinated in such a way that people would not have been there to help make it happen.

We give God credit because he is the motivator of all goodness. We are inspierd by his image in us, his goodness.
