I am desperately seeking a good childcare program for my 2 yr old. Is there any good recommendations that you can refer me to? I've been looking for quite some time. A lot of them are way too pricey. The range is close to $1100 to $1600 a month. I am more interested in anywhere under a grand/month. Please provide me with some good feedback. Thanks so much for your help!

Whoa, check your local government for childcare centers that they provide for. You don't have to be eligible for the program, but at least you will know where to look, cause they damn sure aint paying 1100 a month! Call your local human services office (like where you would go to get foodstamps, or welfare, or insurance) and ask them what child care centers do they pay for. Once they give you a list, go to each one, and research them each, make sure they are certified. The older a child is the cheaper. childcare in my area is only $95-$120 a week for a child that age. Good luck.

This isn't really an answer to your question, but 1100 - 1600 a month for childcare? That's outrageous!!!!! My husband doesn't even make that much in a month. Have you ever considered being a stay at home parent? With childcare costs that high I can't imagine it being Worth it to work. Where you live, you probably make a lot more than us though (I live in Hamilton Ohio). I don't work because it would cost almost my whole paycheck it I did work just for childcare. Good luck with your search, and have a great night.

Even though I'm not in your area - I have 3 kids and we have done both types of baby sitting.

Through the summer we get a college kid thru referalls to come to our house.

During the rest of the year, they go to a daycare center - they are able to be & interact with kids their own age and you have the ability to walk in at any time you want, whereas most sitters want a notice.... some daycares even have webcams for parents. But within the price meals are provided and they make some good friends...

A private sitter in their own home usually wants cash, some report it on their taxes - whatever you do - GET EVERYTHING IN WRITING as to what is expected - especially when it comes to vacation, six days, hours (drop off & pick up) - the other negative is the kids are mixed up together - my son was kept in a play pen until he was 2 and could crawl out, I had no idea until he & his sister became more verbal and were no longer at that sitters.

No offense to those that are Nanny's - my experience with them have not been positive....

it isn't cruel once you've finished your analyze and performance got here upon an section the position our environment is sparkling, secure, and being concerned. I actual have a three a million/2 365 days previous and he or she has been in daycare considering she became 3 months. there have been circumstances the position I actual have beaten myself up over having her in daycare, yet i imagine it is purely area of parenting. let me allow you to understand a great number of the procedures that i imagine daycare has served her properly. She has realized lots. She has always been very talkative and her vocabulary is giant. She has an effective element of self belief and independence. She quite likes college. She is an effective eater, she eats a form of foodstuff. She flourishes from being on a agenda. the undeniable reality that you requested the question, shows that you're wondering and that you care. i believe that there are good daycares and some that i'd under no circumstances go away my daughter in. I actual were fortunate to have got here upon a challenge that works properly for me. there are distinctive those who pick to communicate stay at living house moms and dealing moms...whose top and who's incorrect. i do not interact in those conversations. i imagine that everybody needs to do what works on your own kin. an effective daycare isn't cruel, recommended parenting isn't cruel.

St. John's Infant Toddler Program on College Ave in Berkeley. My wife used to be the director when we lived there. Ther are some wonderful teachers there. It is not a religous program, they just have space in St John's ... Church, I don't even know what kind of Church it is, but they have their own enterance and playground. Wonderful!
