No. My daughter is 16 month old and my husband plays with her all the time. He treats her just like most men would treat a boy which I think is great. She loves it when he chases her around and they have game where he knocks her over on the bed by head butting her that she thinks is the funniest thing ever. She lights up around him.

My husbands name is Fred and his last name starts with B as well.... your not him are you? lol.

I play with my 19 month old girl. I don't take care of her day to day needs like a bath and dressing her as much as my wife does, but I do play with her. Some fathers don't do anything, and some leave their family period, so I guess it is true that SOME fathers don't. But I am not one of them. By the way my Dad always played with my sister too, so maybe it is what you have learned, and many in this country don't get to see much of dear old dad too much, only every other weekend.

Oh, that's true for some fathers, but not all. My fiance plays with our girls all the time. He has no problem with putting a diaper on a baby doll for our 2 year old. We go to the park as a family every weekend and he's playing as much as they are.

My daughter and I are always spending time together.
In days past, I attended tea parties, played emergency room/pediatrician with various dools, allowed her to "fix" my hair and my nails and my make-up, and too many other things to count.
Studies have shown that the amount of self-confidence a woman has is usually directly proportional to the amount of time she spends with her father.

I was my dad's only child for 19yrs...we went fishing together, four wheeling together, he even coached me on softball and sponsored my team. Now, I do the same things with my boys, and we are super close...we even go paintballing together, and I am pretty girly, but paintballing was a blast! I cannot imagine a dad not interacting with his child whether son or daughter.
