I've just noticed I have a small mark on the side of my forehead - looks very much like a pigmintation thing....lighter than the rest of my skin...could anyone confirm and does anyone know why this happens??

It can be because of a deficiency of some nutrient, due to worms in the stomach or they can be lesions.
Primary skin lesions are variations in color or texture that may be present at birth, such as moles or birthmarks, or that may be acquired during a person's lifetime, such as those associated with infectious diseases (e.g. warts, acne, or psoriasis), allergic reactions (e.g. hives or contact dermatitis), or environmental agents (e.g. sunburn, pressure, or temperature extremes). Secondary skin lesions are those changes in the skin that result from primary skin lesions, either as a natural progression or as a result of a person manipulating (e.g. scratching or picking at) a primary lesion.
I would recommend you to see a dermotologist.

Go see an ear/nose/throat specialist. Just because you aren't showing active signs of infection does NOT mean that there isn't a problem! Best thing to have done with problem tonsils is simply ... have them removed ... This surgery used to be routine for kids with recurrent sore throats, but now it's not done unless there's a clear pattern of infection over and over again ... tonsillitis, strep ... all that. But a specialist may recommend that you have yours removed as a precautionary measure, if you've been having problems over a long period of time. My personal experience .... I was absolutely PLAGUED by recurring sore throats, infections, fever ... I was SICK ... several times a year from approx. the age of 14 to age 20. Had my tonsils removed at age 20, and have not had a significant sore throat in over 26 years!
