Everytime I see someone refer to being gay, Some (I said some, not all) christians refer to them as sinners and judge them and tell them they should repent, change their ways.. yada yada. Then they spout that yes, you are a sinner and chose to sin.. That tells me that are not informed and only talking refering to what they have learned and never spoke to someone that is gay. It is not a choice and we were born this way. I had a great father and mother, neither neglected me and I was close to my father and mother alike.. I just always knew. They also start refering to a passage in the Bible. The Bible is an interpretation. Some of the interpretations have been askewed from personal beliefs and are not correct. Like the interpretations of the role of women and how they should be treated. So before you judge someone.. get to know someone that is gay and talk to them, you will see if you are a person of faith that they are just like you.. human.

You said it. But they are not just judgemental about gays. They are judgemental about anyone how does not believe what they believe. Being in a formed religion as clouded their mind in to not excepting anything else. Even though God loves EVERYONE.
If God forgives anyone who repents before they die why can he not forgive someone who is living the way He intended them to be?
Not only will love change the world but understanding, opening ones mind, and teaching our children that everyone is different in their own way is ok this will also change the world.

To evryone who say this is a sin and a choice. Do you think that you would choose to live a life where everyone treats you like dirt and puts you down everyday of your life? NO.
Not loving your neighbor is a sin but for people who says that being gay is wrong and puts down someone who is gay then you are sinning. God is the only one who can choose what a sin is. And unless you have spoken to God face to face how do you know that this is a sin!!!!

what a controversial subject.. i don't know the bible well enough to know exactly how it explains the topic of homosexuality... however, i have been learning more about Romans Ch 5-8 lately...and this was my recent epiphany:

we are ALL sinners. it's just human nature to make mistakes, we are not perfect. once we accept Jesus Christ as our Savior, and that he died for our sins and therefore becoming a Christian, that leads to being Justified----> we are Not Guilty anymore BECAUSE through Jesus we are forgiven. for all sins past, present and future. Once we understand and accept that, we can achieve PEACE through God's Grace. Once we can somehow understand and achieve that peace that we are forgiven for all sins, then that will lead us down the path of righteousness. Not because we are bound by law to be all "goody two shoes", but because we WANT to do, and be, good.

Sin has lost it's STING: that means we are not under the punishment of sin anymore.. whatever we end up doing that is sinful, it DOESN'T matter because God forgives us. Jesus already died to take away our punishment. That doesn't mean we can do whatever the hell we want and get away with it. because once you achieve that Peace (and i don't know when i'll have it yet but i will!), you will KNOW and LONG to do what is the right, and not punish yourself for the past. Therein lies the Choices we make to do the greater good, and what is right.

In terms of being gay, I have no idea what is the "right" or "wrong" thing to say.. however i do agree that many people are too judgemental within AND without the church. and I feel judged by other Christians for not being a certain way, so i can totally understand feeling judged and negative towards the typical "Christian". Just do what you feel is right, and continue to learn what you can. :)

I consider myself a good christian and I for one try hard not to judge anyone for any reason but if someone gets me really pissed I may not judge them but I sure will let them know that I'm pissed and that part of me is what is know as being "human" and should not be related to being a good christian.
As for judging anyone who is gay, that's their business and no one has the right to judge them unless they themselves wish to be judged in turn
I doubt that God cares any less for the gay then He cares for those who are called "straight." God created everyone to live their lives the best that they can and to have the right to chose the partner they wish to spend their life with too.
No I would not judge anyone for being gay, why would I? They are just as wonderful as the next person and why would I think any less of someone for how they live? I commend those who have "come out of the closet" for being so brave.
I hope I expressed myself the way I hoped to.
And yes, love would differently make a world of difference to the world as we know it now. Maybe with more love in our world there just might no be a war going on now where so many innocent people are being murdered and tortured.
The Bible is good and if more people actually read it the world would be a happier place to live in.

The book of Romans says" For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."
I became a Christian, not because of my perfection, but because of my imperfection.
Sin is sin, it needs to be paid for! God provided us with that payment, but calls use to "turn away from" our old sinful natures.
Being "judgmental" maybe a very concerned person, trying to point out the need for a savior.
I liked doing lot's of destructive things before salvation, but now I am a new person, with different goals and desires.. I would rather have my worst day as a Christian, than my best day before.

You admit that only some Christians, and not all, are judgmental. That's good.

Yet you use this small number of judgmental Christians as a basis for your critique of Christianity in general.

It's sort of like judging the whole of Islam because of the acts of a few bad apples -- something that political correctness prohibits us from doing.

It's too bad that Christianity doesn't enjoy the same political-correctness protection that Islam does.

John 3:16
"For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. 17God did not send his Son into the world to condemn it, but to save it.

18"There is no judgment awaiting those who trust him. But those who do not trust him have already been judged for not believing in the only Son of God. 19Their judgment is based on this fact: The light from heaven came into the world, but they loved the darkness more than the light, for their actions were evil. 20They hate the light because they want to sin in the darkness. They stay away from the light for fear their sins will be exposed and they will be punished. 21But those who do what is right come to the light gladly, so everyone can see that they are doing what God wants."

Dude these people suck that we are left with on this dwindelling mudball earth. Just enjoy your life, share it with those you enjoy and love and be happy with the life we have- even if it is not perfect.

It will take the distruction of life as we know it for anything to change-unfortunately.

Don't feel put off by Christians, they do not understand. Yo feeling bad gives them the power to beat you down more.

Well Everything is judgement. sometimes things are fact, and they just thought you would like to know. so when you were 7 you were all up in all the guys wanting to make out with them. Now I don't know, but you still have a choice right now, it may not be the greatest right now but in the long run you will have done the right thing.

Love will changed the world and that's what Christ taught. A true Christian is loving and accepting. However, they don't have to love or accept the sin the person is committing.

Chrisianity without judgement? But that's half of the fun for beleivers!!
If they can't show off how much holier than the rest of us, why preach in public, force prayer into every public function, or protest every film or book that has a different view than theirs?
