The groom traditionally pays. Because after all this is your and your new husband's night. But if his parents or your parents want to pay for the honeymoon as a wedding present, let them.

WHAT? Research DOWERY's.... Its the groom of course. The brides family pays for the wedding, The grooms the practice wedding and treats. But since the groom has paid for the Rings and proposed, then the brides family picks up the entire wedding, and sometimes the honeymoon, depends how much of an impression they want to make on the grooms family.

But after the wedding, the groom picks up all costs. Only the wedding is paid for by the brides family. If unsure read up on the old fashion term DOWRY. It should give you quite an insight as to whom is associated to what costs. It was the monies the brides family gave to the grooms family to take the bridge.

It's the groom that pays for the honeymoon. They get a pretty good deal since they don't have to pay for much other than the honeymoon.

the bride's parent's pay for the wedding, and the groom's parent's pay for the honeymoon...but i think it depends on what area you are from....even around where i live there are different traditions for different economic classes, different communities, etc.

well, it's not his parents who are taking the honeymoon, so err goes it would be the groom. Ask for cash gifts instead of other gifts and it will lighten the burden on him and you.
