Even theists often get told they are going to Hell. For example, Muslims sometimes will tell Christians they are going to Hell. Don't let it rattle you so much.

If they didn't want to hear christians say that they wouldn't put themselves in a place where it is bound to happen.. It's not like christians go around from person to person tell everyone that they are going to hell (Which most will). But as I walk through my daily life the subject seldom comes up at all.

Looks like you had a few theists answer this, but as for your question yes. Some even think that you care about what they say. Worse that the "hell" speech, I hate bible quoting.

John 3:16
"For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. 17God did not send his Son into the world to condemn it, but to save it.
18"There is no judgment awaiting those who trust him. But those who do not trust him have already been judged for not believing in the only Son of God. 19Their judgment is based on this fact: The light from heaven came into the world, but they loved the darkness more than the light, for their actions were evil. 20They hate the light because they want to sin in the darkness. They stay away from the light for fear their sins will be exposed and they will be punished. 21But those who do what is right come to the light gladly, so everyone can see that they are doing what God wants."

If atheists are so convinced of the nonexistence of God (and thus of the nonexistence of heaven and hell), why should atheists be bothered by it when "theists tell you that you are going to hell"?

I chime in on everything. An atheist asked about agnostics yesterday and just kept being told he needed to be saved. No one bothered to explain agnostics to him though. I guess it isn't in the bible so they can not comprehend it.

Yeah, that will happen. The upside is that when they ask questions for Theists only, we also feel the need to chime in. Tit for tat.
