Looking for relief of constant feeling of my skin burning. It hurts to have my cloths rub on my skin. It is so irritating that I cannot stand even having a breeze blowing on me. I would appreciate any help. I have been disable due to Fybromyalgia.

I have constant burning skin, my right upper quadrant is sore, Im holding water, my skin is turning pale, total exhaustion. Nothing is showing up in blood work.. Yet I feel like I will pass out.
Doctor thinks its "stress"

My total suspicion is that *a lot* of fibro sufferers actually have an early form of kidney or liver problem (inflamed nephrons, swollen kidneys, a virus bugging it etc) but doctors cannot find it.

Our food is filled with so much ****...is it a surprise our internal organs start giving us horrible symptoms??

Keep looking and researching, but don't bug doctors until you are half dead...otherwise they will label you crazy.

The only thing that works is a shower, or a sweaty treadmill jog (possibly excreting the crap from the blood through the skin...hence the "second kidney"...give that a try, and tell me how it goes.

Hope that helps!

I feel your pain Paula. I also suffer from Fibromyalgia. It is miserable. After showering, my body feels like it is on fire and I start sweating so bad that it is like I haven't had a bath. I use this OTC lotion: Pure Aloe Vera gel. It is available in two colors: clear & green. I found that the green works better. Just make sure it is 100% aloe vera, you don't want anything else with it because you do not know how it will affect your skin. I am also disabled from this plus other diseases. When you are going to stay inside for the day, try just wearing short shorts & maybe a tube or tank top. This will help with the clothes rubbing you. If you would like to know the other problems that I suffer with along with Fibromyalgia go to Respiratory Diseases and click on the question Sarcoidosis and Pulmonary Hypertension anyone? I went back & added a list of my meds per request of an answerer and I forgot to add the Aloe Vera Gel. This is all I can think of for Fibromyalgia concerning the burning skin. Does your doctor have you on any particular meds for your Fibro?? If so, will you let me know if I am not already taking it? You don't have to post here if you don't want, my email is available. Good Luck.

I have fibromyalgia. My Dr prescribed Doxepin (Deptran). I tried Amitryptiline, too; it seemed to have the same effects. I tried 25 mg / day, for several years, and now I take 50 mg / day, to see if it will give better control of the symptoms.

If I miss my medication for 1 - 2 days, I get burning of the skin, mostly on my right side, and especially the back of the hand and the top of the foot, but also the right thigh / groin/ hip.

So the drug does help! Sometimes, it works very well, and I need no other pain relief. If I get over tired, or get an infection, I need analgesics as well.

I recommend others FM sufferers to try these "antidepressant" medications; they are not used much now for depression, AFAIK, but are used for pain relief in neurological patients. FM seems to be a neurological disorder, as far as I can see.
