Pickup lines are outdated, transparent and in general ... bullshit. Girls today prefer that a guy be upfront and honest. If you're interested in her then tell her so by asking her out. If she feels the same way she'll say yes and if not she'll say no and you've both saved each other a lot of wasted time and speculation.

i am not a guy but i understand why you got slapped.. I think the worst one ever used (on me) was do you have a mirror in your pants.. because i can definately see myself in them. try not using a line just go up to them and say.. hey, my name is ... and i was wondering if i could buy you a drink..

Why don't you try saying,"Hi! my name is _________. It's nice to meet you." if they respond, you know to keep talking. If not, you know it's a bust. Be yourself. I don't understand why men think they need a line.
