I just got braces in today. and there is like this hard stuff round the metal plates which tastes funny? i believe its glue. BUT when i open my mouth i cant see it because it the same colour as my teeth. is this normal? how can i remove it?
its not causing discomfort but it should not be there and its hard to eat with it there. please help!

It's glue. It's holding the braces onto your teeth. Try not to pick at it while it sets. It will be hard to eat today (and each time you get them tightened). Plan on having soup and other light meals during those times. Just think. Your teeth are going to be gorgeous at the end of all this!

I dont currently have braces but i did and i say yes thats normal. Itll go away after a couple of days. Regaurdless of the glue its gonna be hard to eat with them either way untill you get used to them

Give yourself a couple days to get used to it...the glue taste will be gone, and any excess will wear away. Give it time; these things are hard to get used to, but it gets better.

i'm pretty sure it's just glue, the taste will go away, and you probably won't notice the glue after a while. Youe best bet it to ask you orthodontist

It is glue and you will have it there until you get your braces off sorry but you have to keep it there, I have them too it is totally normal.

actually it's a kind of "edible" cement. it won't come off until u remove your braces.
