You will have to ignore some of the rude posters, they are just that rude and disrespectful.
They feel they can say anything from their little hideout.

It's called the Internet.

The best thing to do is ignore them. Or spam their in-box, maybe remotely turn off their heat-sink and fry their mobo.
Ok ok, i'm kidding about the last options.

I am non-religious in any aspect of the imagination, does that mean I should cause havoc wherever I go? No.
There are risks to that sort of behaviour.

Ignore their rudeness, stupidity, and uneducated opinions. They will eventually find out the risks of such behaviour.

Listen, lady, if this kind of thing insults you perhaps you should stop perusing the internet. The world will not play by your rules just because your fantasy religion claims to give you carte blanch to act a fool. I will not be forced to respect anything. And religion deserves no more respect than a pile of garbage, to quote some dead guy. Time to up the dosage, sweetie.

If you read all posts objectively, you will find christians and atheists post in kind - or _unkind_ - equally. If you are accusing all atheists of being the only ones who are malicious, insulting and vindictive, then you are willfully ignoring the words of your own people. Neither side behaves any better.

The myth of "christian morality" is just that, a myth. Religion and morality are completely unrelated topics.

If someone offends you because you have a set of beliefs too, doesn't that tell you about your beliefs again? All of this is god in some sense, maybe not a person, maybe not anything we can prove, but it all could be termed "god" to put some kind of box around the idea. So when people make offensive remarks about god, is that not just god being god again? And when you take offense to things, that is just god being god too. So, do offenses really take place? Do you really cry? Or, since you believe in god, is crying and offending just forms of god again?

Actually name calling and the disrespect comes from both sides, regardless of faith. Its just stupid people. Not all atheists are alike.

And for the record irishmomof3 an atheist is someone with no belief in a higher power. Just because you are not baptized doesn't mean you are an atheist.

I am confused. How is it that you consider that the myths, superstitions, fairy tales and fantastical delusions of a bunch of ignorant, peripatetic Bronze Age goat herders, being asserted to represent the 'Truth' pertaining crucial matters of existence and reality, should be worthy of any kind of respect?

Don't let it get to you. Just feel suprior and picture their faces when they first find themselves in a firey pit and realize you were right all along.

ps - atheists don't need to make religion a joke. The bible-thumpers do a pretty good job of that by themselves.

We won't show you respect until you show us some. Why do you christians always try to convert us? Why all the jokes and insults?

It's a two sided deal and until BOTH "sides" knock it off, it will continue. Just as you said not all "christians" are the same, neither are all "athiests" or for that matter any one person.

Sometimes it's hard to do, but try not to let the people here on the internet take up space in your head.
Just be thankful you don't have to live with them in real life.

Tomorrow another day.
