Maybe, and you should go and see a doctor about it anyway, if nothing else has changed like your diet and exercise. Thyroid problems don't necessarily show up with all the same symptoms in everyone, so even if you don't have any of the other symptoms of an overactive thyroid like being hot all the time, heart palpitations and enlarged thyroid gland, that might still be what it is.

Yes, it's possible (especially for hyper-thyroid). In addition to excessive wright loss, heartbeat will increase as well. These are caused by the hormones "growing too fast". But all can be treated through proper medication. Though the medication will make you gain alot of weight.

Yes it is possible - it happened with a friend of mine - BUT it could be down to one of many other things too.
You should consult a Doctor straightaway. Excessive weight loss requires medical advice whatever the cause AND if it is serious than the sooner the actual cause is known then the sooner you can get suitable and reliable advice and treatment.
Yahoo answers is fine to ask what colour you should paint your toe nails on a Tuesday when the wind is blowing South - but for a serious medical complaint - please go pay a visit to your Doctors office for a thorough check-up.

Yes, it is possible. My friend's husband started losing weight really fast and ended up in the hospital. His thyroid was overactive. Go to your doctor and have tests done and you will know for sure.

Some thyroid disorders can be cured, but many require lifetime treatment. Learn here https://tr.im/3UT25
For example, sometimes early stage thyroid cancer can be cured by surgery to remove the thyroid gland, but you will need to take thyroid hormone medication afterwards for the rest of your life. Goiters can also be surgically removed and do not always recur after surgery. In most cases, thyroid disorders need treatment over a lifetime. However, with treatment most people with thyroid disorders can live normal, healthy lives.
