We are supposed to rely on faith. All the world wants today is proof of the eyes. I'll answer your question with a question. If man evolutionized from apes. Why are there still apes. And you also in your question talk about murder and rape which in everyones eyes is sin. Sin came in this world thru Adam, so we all have a link to Adam. Jesus did not get rid of sin on the cross, he just provided grace that you can be forgiven from it. We are all free moral agents and have the right to choose right or wrong. If everything were perfect and no wrong done then we would be in Heaven. He does not control what we do but wants us to choose what he would have us to do. We still make the choices. It is not Gods fault it is ours for not beleiving in Him.

Nope friend, there's no 100% satisfactory proof of the existence of God. You can't see him, you can't touch him, etc. That's why religion requires faith. Murder and rape occur because man has free will. Sin isn't God's creation, its man's.

I guess this is where the "faith" part comes into play. As to why God allows bad things to happen, I've always liked to think that this life is just a test for the next, and you pass or fail based on your actions.

If you wish to believe in God, fine, do so. But don't expect to find any proof of his/her existence, because none exists. The so called Intelligent Design notion is pure speculation.Think about all the fighting that has taken place because "my god is better than your god." I think most people like to believe in God because this gives them reason to think life will be better in the "afterlife."
I think you would enjoy reading Julian Baggini's book "What's It All About?"

the banana is proof
it has a handle built for the human hand; fitting the shape of a hand perfectly
it peels easily for eating but so that the person doesn't have to get his/her hands all sticky
and it can be used as a boomerang.
(ha ha I'm kidding...I saw that on the Internet somewhere)

of course who created the earth and if you believe in evolution than where did time come from...
you see the wind pick up the leaves and move things but you can't really see the wind...
GOD created the earth BUT you can't really see HIM...
you see the wind do great things (as in BIG) just as if you pay attention you'll see GOD do great things all the way around...
Sometimes he allows things to happen to make people humble so they realize that GOD can help them get over things and learn to lean on him...
then sometimes he allows things to happen so that it makes you stonger...
hope it helps...

Taking everything to the common denominator in creation...there is a spark of life not available in evolution. For those that will believe it is there, for those that do not, it will never be there.
