Have LUMPIA!!! Hmmm yummi! It's like a flauta or a slim egg roll filled up with pork, deep fried. Youc an find them im most supermarkets

You can also have LONGANIZA, a tradittional sweet sausage from the phillipines,. You can cut it in litlle pieces and serve them with tootpicks...hmm so good

You can also have Hummus and pita chips for her eastern background.

You can also try Tzaziki salad with cucumber. This is Turkish/Greek/persian recipe.

Plain yogurt, cream cheese, olive oil, crushed garlic, salt, ppeper. A liltle bit of vinegar and lemon juice. Fresh dill leaves. Mix well, Add sliced cucumbers....OH SO GOOD!

Dry fruits are HUGE in the eastern countries. dates, almonds, figs, etc.

I hope this heps...good luck

I don't know anything about the cultural customs, but you could do a couples shower instead of a traditional bridal shower - those are always fun, and usually more casual and laid back. A good theme for those is a basket shower - each guest is assigned a theme and they have to put together a basket for it. It's fun to see the different things that people come up with. For my sister's basket shower, our theme was "shaken, not stirred" so we got martini glasses, a bar set, a bottle of vodka, different stuffed olives, martini flavorings, etc. Of course, that was my sister, so I spent a lot more than I normally would have, but the baskets are a blast to put together and then open with the group.

My mom and sister-in-law gaves us the jack-n-jill bridal shower where we were both there. We played lots of games that you can download from wedding websites. They chose to have it an a Chinese Buffet, which had separate rooms for parties. You can always look into a Persian restaurant and see if they have availability and room for a party.

you could do games like ... (assuming that all of the guests are women) giving small prizes out for the heaviest purse ....20 questions about the bride and groom (where did they meet etc...) and see who gets the most of them right. stuff like that consumes time and people will appreciate the small like prizes :)
