Becuase...
He saw the suffereing that we have to face and the direction that his creation was headed.. Jesus cried becuase he loves us and knew that the only way we would see him in heaven is that innocent blood be shed. No one is innocent, but Jesus.
Jesus cried because he knew what we had to endure and he felt deeply for us. He also knew that when it was all done victory would be ours and evil and hate and death would be no more.. He cried because he was happy about that.

First, we need to realize that Jesus was both man and God and as such if He used the term God it was not a problem as He did recognize His father as being God. This does not prohibit Him from also being part of the Godhead, which of course many other Scriptures show.
Jesus was also quoting from Psalm 22:1, which begins, with the words, "My God, My God, why hast Thou forsaken Me?" Jesus used these words in order to draw attention to the fact that He was fulfilling it there on the cross. See for instance Psalm 22:11-18.
Psalm 22 was written about 600 years before Christ was born and at that time, crucifixion had not yet been invented. However, when Rome ruled over Israel, it became the Roman means of capital punishment imposed upon the Jews whose biblical means of execution was stoning. Jesus is pointing to the scriptures to substantiate His messianic mission.

Are you referring to the famous shortest verse in the Bible: Jesus wept.
If read in the context you will see that a friend of His had died and His friends had come to Jesus to let Him know. Jesus went to visit the family and then raised the guy from the dead. I don't know if Jesus was crying for this fallen world in which people have to die, or that he would miss Lazarus, or that he had sympathy for the family.

Yourquestion is based on the belief/fath in JESUS that he cried, which may be accepted by a vast section of humanity or not, since anybody who witnessed it is not present now and it it is purely based on the scripture.I am the most faithful and noncompromising believer in the SUPREME SOUL and ITS ATTRIBUTORY ASPECTS ,but without any tilt towards a sect.I personally feel that,if at all the the fulcrum of the faith THE JESUS would have cried, it must be for the sinners called the HUMANITY.

As a human, he had feelings just like we do. He felt pity and sadness, sometimes anger.
Jesus wept on several occasions. Luke 19:41 "And when he was come near, he beheld the city, and wept over it"
John11:33-36: " When Jesus therefore saw her weeping, and the Jews also weeping which came with her, he groaned in the spirit, and was troubled. And said, Where have ye laid him? They said unto him, Lord, come and see. Jesus wept. Then said the Jews, Behold how he loved him!" (Jesus' friend Lazarus had died)

Jesus was made to feel so that he could relate to us. Our pain is his pain and he knows what we're going thru cause he's been there.
Heb 5:7
"During the days of Jesus' life on earth, he offered up prayers and petitions with loud cries and tears to the one who could save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverent submission."
Heb 2:17
For this reason he had to be made like his brothers in every way, in order that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in service to God, and that he might make atonement for the sins of the people. Because he himself suffered when he was tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted."

"Jesus wept" is a phrase famous for being the shortest verse in the New Testament. (John 11:35). The phrase occurs in John's narrative of the death of Lazarus, a friend of Jesus. Lazarus' sisters Mary and Martha sent word to Jesus of their brother's illness. Jesus arrived four days after Lazarus' death. Jesus, after talking to the greiving sisters and seeing Lazarus' friends weeping, was deeply troubled. After being shown where Lazarus was laid, Jesus wept in front of Lazarus' tomb.

He cried at the death of Lazarus, because Mary and Martha did not completely believe that he could raise their brother.
I also think that when he lamented over Jerusalem at the end of His life, saying He wanted to "gather them as chicks under My wing, but you would not", he was crying also.
