The Scripture teaches that "no man can know the day nor hour," but because the signs of the times are so evident to those who really read and study Daniel and Revelations, it's virtually impossible to deny! Jesus truly is coming soon. "Be ye therefore also ready for in such an hour as ye think not, the Son of Man cometh!" Matthew 24:44.

Well, the end is nearer now than it was before.
Seriously, though, people who lived with the death of Christ believed that the end times would happen within their lifetimes. They were wrong. What makes you more special than those who walked with Christ that the world would end in your lifetime? What makes you more special than your grandparents or your great-great-great-grandparents? The world didn't end in their lifetimes, so why are you afraid it'll end in your lifetime?
Regardless, I think the fear is justified. We can look back at naysayers of the past and say, "Pfft, boy, were they wrong." But that's looking at history. When looking at our own lives, we want to believe that the world revolves around us. This is why some people want to make a name for themselves before they die. This is why some people hope the world is destroyed when they die. It's a bit twisted, but some people really just want to *matter*.
Your next question baffles me:
"For those who aren't Christians, if you can see this turmoil, and it bothers you, claim Christ as your savior now!"
It's not really a question. Are you asking if this is an effective response to the fears of war and such? I wouldn't think so. You should do what is right. Giving yourself over to a religion is not necessarily the right thing to do. And as you pointed out, the world is in quite a bit of strife. You might as well do something good with your life rather than join a cult.

Yes the world seems like it is in shambles, but then when has it not seemed like that. Think about what it felt like to live in Europe during the World Wars. Think about what it was like to live in a poor part of Africa at any time in human history. Think about how savage the middle ages were with public executions, dungeons, battles and torture.
Right now most people who are typing on Yahoo! Answers have a level of comfort in their lives that was inconceivable 500 years ago. In fact we have a quality of life that has really never been seen before.
Using some of the world's turmoil as proof we are living in the end times is just bogus nonsense spouted out by the churches to make it seem like something big is about to happen.
Just remember even Jesus lied about the second coming when he told his followers that the end times would happen during their life times. Now they are all dead and yet another prophecy is unfulfilled.
The end of the world is nigh is not a new slogan or thought. It has been promised for centuries and has not yet come true. You need to listen to your preacher less and your common sense more.

While it might be true that we're 2,006 years closer to the end of the world than we were in Jesus' time, the bad stuff going on now is hardly an indication that the end is near. The world has ALWAYS been bad, and in fact for most of history it has been much, much worse.
Compared to things like the Black Death, the Mongol invasions, the Spanish Inquisition, and the world wars, a few petty terrorists and bombings are laughable threats. We as Christians must ALWAYS be ready for Christ's second coming, because "wars and rumors of wars" have always been going on, and will continue to go on until He returns.

I'm a Christian, too, my dear.
Yes, I heard about the Israeli planes bombing Lebanon. Benny Hinn must be upset about that.
Yes, I think the end is near. The weather is so brutal and unpredictable...look at Hurricane Katrina. It's unnatural.
I know I am going to heaven. We should pray for America.
But please don't be afraid. God is still in control! He looks after his sheep. We are going to be all right.
I think it's only going to get worse- sorry to sound fatalistic. This is probably just the beginning of the end. It's not too late now for people to see the error of their ways, but the sands of time are running low.
Who knows? The world might continue for another 1000 years before Jesus returns. But I think it's soon- probably within the next ten years. But that's just my opinion.

ehh, the world is always bad. i'm a christian. t's some sort of psychology term, used to explain 'the world doesn't revolve around you'. eveery generation thinks they're something special. people all throughout history have though that the end of the worl d was at hand and that their generation woul dbe the last. kinda foolish. yea, things are bad, wars abound, the whole nine yards, but things have always been bad. sure, there are times when the world doesn't seem so quite a mess, but throughout history, there have been many times when it would have seemed the end was near. the dropping of the atomic bomb, either of the world wars, the crimean war, the mongols invasion of eurasia and the mddle east. don't worry about if tomorrow's giong to come, because tomorrow's already here somewhere on earth!

You may have more media reporting the bad things, but as sad as it seems, the world and its people have never been in better shape.
Not for 5000 years..
So far as Israel bombing lebanon, remember that 20 years ago Israel was occupying parts of lebanon and Syria. This is nothing compared to what happened then.
Please don't fear-monger.
If anyone is to find Christ, they should do so in their own way. Not because they decided it would be the opportune thing to do.

The World will NOT End, Only the living creatures will End!
War, bombing and killings are just a reality of life. Because in general is not perfect & not all a Happy Ending. For there is Happiness, entwines is Sorrow.

The world is getting worse alright, primarily because of the rise of the religious nut cases. The only hope for the world is that people will recognize religion for the nonsense that it is and start to develop solutions for the world's problems based on reason rather than the delusional fantasy of religion.

Oh, for crying out loud. How is it that EVERY generation of christians thinks the end is near? There's always been violence, more than there is now. In fact, a lot of it was caused by christians. The end is, most definitely, not near. Pfft.

Gets nearer every day. Just like December gets closer everyday. Time is just passing, that's all. Earth has at least 100 years left, maybe longer. Quit freaking out about the end of the world. When it happens, you can't stop it. Why fret over something you have no control over?
