I have the need to monitor my AIM account (AOL instant messager) as well as my MSN and Yahoo IM accounts. I would also if possible like to be able to monitor two AIM accounts at the same time without being logged off of one of them when I sign on with the other.

For Macintosh users on OS X, what is the best app for doing this?

For some reason Fire will not allow me to monitor two AIM accounts at the same time.

Adium X meets all your requirements. You can sign into multiple accounts without a problem. It's simply the best IM client for OS X. In addition, you'll be able to connect to MSN, Jabber, Yahoo! Messenger, Bonjour, Gadu-Gadu, Novell Groupwise and Lotus Sametime.

Fire or Adium, and if you feel like giving yourself a headache trying to figure it out, you can use iChat and Jabber with the respective "transports" to communicate. I've done it, haven't tried multiple AIM accounts, but it might be possible.
