I'm worried about it as well. I don't think the United States has enough credibility to do anything to help over there; however, I believe that the EU, particularly France and Germany, could have some sway.
The key is for the EU to convince Syria, Iran, and Jordan not to intervene in the Israel/Lebanon conflict. Iran's involvement would be particularly dangerous; however, the head religious leader (as opposed to the president) will have most of the say in the matter, and he's a lot saner.

WWIII is a little simplistic. A world war like what went on in the past assumes that there are 2 major opponents. That is not the case now.

the US is corrupt. you have to reform the US political system to elect leaders that don't take their orders from oil companies, banks, and international corporations, but the people of the united states. and create a government that acts in a manner that is respectful towards the rest of the international community and in keeping wth america's true christian heritage.
<<>> this answer is ****** up. he's treating world war 3 like an eventuality. so instead of analyzing how the US is the cause of world war 3 and the war can be prevented, he tries to pass off the lie that the US is solving a problem that was just thrown at it. though the fact remains taht terrorism and the tensions in the middle east are the direct result of british and american imperialism in the region.

All big powers are united and there is no question of World War. Iran can play a very effective role in Middle East. It has to accept ground realities.
Every body has right to take revenge but is barbarous act in a civilized society.

no longer inevitably, because no longer all terrorists are from the middle East, or contained in the middle East. yet a minimum of no terrorists have attacked us on US soil considering 9/11/01 and that i'm grateful and satisfied about that.

I am not.
This is a repeating situation. The Palestinians violate a cease-fire agreement, Israel responds, the Palestinians sign a new cease-fire agreement. Then the cycle repeats itself.
