always a tricky one. Your friends tell you because they care about you and can see things that you can't because you are too close. and you know things about that person because you are closer to them. One of life's situations ! you can always do a little test like get a friend to text their mobile and see if he takes the bait and is a cheater ? harsh but fair. only a thought, but it's a clear cut way of finding out without wasting months, years and all the hurt that goes with it.

Your friends obviously care for you, but perhaps they don't know this person as well as you do. The person you love could really be a very kind and considerate person, or a very abusive person. You might want to speak to some of his friends or his ex-girlfriends to learn more about him, his past and his reputation.

Sometimes friends have intuition. I dated this guy. My friends warned me about him, and they kept warning me about him. I was in awe of him, though. I couldn't find one thing wrong with him. He was so romantic and I was sure I was going to fall in love with him. Well, I went to the beach for a week with some of my friends. When I came back I had found out he cheated on me.
Sometimes friends have a 6th sense when it comes to smelling rats!!

Your friends are probably right, but you'll probably have to find out for yourself, the hard way.
I'm sure you'll have fun at the time though, while he's not beating you or sleeping with your sister.

You in trouble bad. Listen to friends unless they are just trying to get you out of way and move in for themselves. Confusing ain't it.

Your friend may be right because they see it from outside perspective. I would not take their word on it. But if my family doesn't like him then I would definitely stop my relationship with him.
