I want another child and I am not sure if I should ask the Lord to help us. I mean because He is supposed to know the desires of my heart, so He already knows I want another child. Do you think I should just be patient and wait. See I had my tubes tied 7 years ago while I was a nonbeliever. Now I am regreting trying decide my own future.

yes. god knows your heart, better then u.
the bible says: bring your requests/prayer petitions b/4 the lord in prayer with boldness with thanksgiving & supplication, believing & not doubting that god hears your prayers & will answer them according to the riches & glory in heaven.
i know of a pastor's wife personally that had her tubes tied too. she prayed, began to believe, praying for GOD'S PERFECT WILL, & guess what? she conceived i think 2 other children. god's a miracle god, a god of mercy & grace.
if god feels to bless u with another child, then so be it. but pray for god's perfect will to be done in this situation. nothing is impossible for god. even though god knows the desires of your heart, you need to do your part & bring all of them b/4 god, lay them down at the foot of the cross, lift them up in prayer & thank god for the answer. what ever the answer may be.
good luck & god bless.
remember: there's no condemnation in christ.
things & decisions are made b/4 coming to christ. we all make bad choices/decisions in life. but we can't continue to condem ourselves.
god understands, better then what u think.....

In reading some of the other responses, we can sometimes be so "spooky" and insensitive. God would be useless if we could not ask for what we want. There is nothing selfish about that. What becomes selfish is when we ask and ask for our desires and never give back when the opportunity presents itself. I too had my tubes tied when I was with my 1st husband. After eleven years of raising my children alone, I met my current husband who had no children. As Believers, we desired to have children, and we prayed for guidance in making our decision. We chose to have the reversal surgery and 6 months later we were pregnant. God indeed answered our prayers and guided our choices throughout the process. God never said that we can't ask -- but we know that anytime a question or request is made, there is a 50/50 chance that it will be granted as asked. Yes, He knows our desires, but if they are not within His Divine plan, then we will not always get the answer we desire. Pray, ask and do your own research. If it is meant to be, God will allow things to align for your success. If it is not, be patient, there is a reason. God Bless you and stay prayerful.

I'm not religious but if you had your tubes tied your not going to have another child. Sorry to tell you that. It was a decision you made and if you believe that God has a reason for everything then there was a reason why God had you tie your tubes in the first place. Don't waste your time wishing for a miracle use your mind and your time focused on other things you enjoy. If you do end up pregnant than it was meant to be.

There are Bible verses that specify that we can ask for things.

Mark 11:24......Therefore I tell you, whatever you ASK for in prayer, believe that you have recieved it, and it will be yours.

Psalm 20:4.....May He give you the desire of your heart and make all your plans succeed.

God wants to hear from you, he wants to know your desires (yes he already knows, but you need to communicate it to Him also).

Pray for guidance, people on here are saying adopt or be a foster parent......that may be the answer, but God will let you know for sure. He will guide you in what way you should go, getting a reversal, adoption, fostering, or nothing at all.

Our pastor taught us that God answers in four ways:

Yes.......no.......wait (this one is hard!)......or..... I have a better idea.

So just pray and seek Gods wisdom on this matter, you and your husband should pray together.... God will guide you!!!

Good luck, God Bless!!

can they not untie them? or have you had this done already?

Prayer can be powerful and if you ask and your not careful you may get your prayer answered by a chain of events that you may not like. This is why I pray for what I want but say that as long as it is Gods will. I can tell you pray works because I have yet to have an unanswered prayer. You need to have faith that God will do what he feels is best. and if he knows that by not giving you what you pray for is for the best.

Sure, wish, I mean pray for whatever you want, just take into account the success rate. Does prayer work? Hundreds of millions prayed for God to stop Hitler, but God did nothing and 30 million+ died. Either God is heartless, powerless, both, or does not exist at all.

God wants us to ask him for what we want, even though he already knows the question before we ask it. You should pray, always thanking God for what you do have, and ask him what you want. He is always listening. You will still have to be patient and wait, but maybe his answer will be to bring a baby to you that needs adoption. I have this little plaque in my office that says:

'The will of God will never you where the grace of God cannot keep you.'

Keep praying, keep praising, good luck and God bless :)

It is completely okay to pray for something that you want. If that thing is also in the will of God, then He will give it to you. But it's important to realize that He knows better than we do, so maybe what we should pray for is to understand His will better.

Definitely keep praying, in general. It's a very good way to stay close to God, and it will make your life better.

It's ok to pray, but don't hold your breath. In the mean time,, why not look into IVF. The other option that may be pleasing to your God is to open your heart to one of the world's multitude of neglected unwanted children.

Your Lord may know the desires of your heart, but he may not see fit to grant them. Asking is not getting. Look into the many other ways you might be pleasing in His sight, rather than wasting your days waiting.

how the bible says your supposed to pray is to:
1) Thank the Lord for a great day
2) Ask the Lord for forgiveness
3) Pray for those who need God's attention
4) Listen to what God has to say
*I don't think there is anything wrong with telling God what you wnat (i do it!) but just know that this is not the purpose of prayer.
