I think it all depends on the person. Some people mature faster than others. And that can make a huge difference on when they are ready to start dating. I had my first boyfriend in 8th grade. I have no regrets. You are young and this is the time to have fun and make mistakes... you'll learn from them in the end. But don't totally disregard your mom's opinions. Moms are smart and they always want whats best for you.

Your mom wants what's best for you. And don't want you growing up to fast. Age 16 is good, make good grades. Follow the house rules, help around the house, show your mom that you can be responsible and she can trust you.

Wait until you are around 16 honestly. I'm 17 and I've learned some tough lessons. Listen to you mom because she loves you and is trying to save you from terrible heartbreaks.

You could be like me and date whenever you feel your ready. Then, when you are a little bit older tell your mom you want to date, and dont tell her about the guys in the past you have dated. your mother can't hold you back from dating forever!

There is no right or wrong answer to that ...
The best advice i could give you is finish up your high school, you don't need any distractions , those are going to be the best years of your life...
Have guy friends go out but don't attach yourself to them once you're done with school and matures even more then it's to your discretion..
