my friend is hooking me up with one of her guy friends. she said that he's really sweet and is so nice, she told him the same about me. i got his number and will call him 2nite. do you think it's best to meet someone over the phone b4 you see them so u dont judge them by appearance?

Absolutely, talk to him on the phone first. Your friend and you have different taste so she may find him sweet and nice but you might not think that is true. The best way to find out is to talk over the phone. You also might not have anything in common and it is definitely better to find that out over the phone then to be sitting there face to face with nothing to say. As far as the guy being afraid of embarassing himself the phone call will only help decrease the chances of that happening. Good Luck.

It's a very good idea to talk to them first. If you see that you're somewhat compatible chatters, that will make the first in person meeting easier. Don't read too much into a great phone conversation though. In person meetings are the real clincher. I've talked to many people on the phone first and found there was no attraction whatsoever when we met in person. It's a good way to break the ice too. Many that I talked to on the phone first turned out to be so different that i didn't bother meeting them in person.

I don't think one is more important than the other. The phone will tell alot about him and seeing him in person will too. However, it is your choice to judge someone by their appearance. It's not something you can't help, it's something you shouldn't do. Also, trust your friend, she must know a bit about you, so she's sure to have found someone you might have a lot in common with.

OMG I was just in this situation not to long ago I truly believe talking on the phone before you meet some one is a must.The one thing my mom taught me was never judge a book by its cover.Have fun with it,you can tell allot about some by their voice .Listen real close people sound how they look (does that make since?) its the truth.2 months ago today i met my current boyfriend but before i met him we talked for 2 weeks on the phone .Good luck and have fun hope its a deep sexy voice.

Over the phone because that gives you a chance to get to know a little about the person and then it won't be has hard to start a conversation when you do meet in person.

talking with them before is nice, you can atleast tell if you are gonna have some things in common, if they can carry on a conversation, etc.........just don't get too deeply involved from that conversation though, because ultimately there has to be a physical attraction there and you don't wanna set yourself up to be disappointed........good luck
