Has she been fixed? She may be in heat.

Cats are like people. Some are very talkative, and some are the silent type. I have one of each. A talkative cat can be a lot of company, but if you just can't tolerate this, I would return it to the person who gave it to me, or take it to an cat rescue organization. Don't send it to the pound, some of these places put the animals down if they are unable to adopt them out.

Give it some time, after all it is in a new home. Cats need love and affection and there space. If you send it to the pound it could end up as a dead cat, adult animals have a lower adoption rate.

Aw, give her a chance. She's not a kitten who will just easily adapt to her surroundings. She's not used to her new home yet. Cats meow often, the best thing to do is to ignore the meowing because if you give the cat attention while she's making noise, she's going to know that's how she can get your attention.

I would say give her a little while longer, and I'm sure you will both grow closer and love each other very much.

But if you wanna give up, please don't send it to the pound. At least find a no kill animal shelter in your area or put an ad in the paper to give her away to a good home.

Return it, if you want it to live.

Take it to the pound and it will probably be put down because of the few people willing to adopt cats from the pound.

If it is siamese, it is a talker anyways. Call the girl who gave it to you and ask if this is normal for the cat or if it is adjusting to new house. If you wont keep it, try to return it to the girl if you arent willing to find a better home for the cat.

If you return her or give her the pound, NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER get a pet again!! ADOPTING a pet is a lifetime committment. So she's talking -- that's worth dumping her? She's either stressed because she's in a new place and is telling you about it because she now has to depend on YOU, or she COULD possibly be in heat. You figure out how to work WITH the situation if you are going to have a pet -- or a child -- and you figure out how committed you're going to be BEFORE you get into the situation!

Cats do tend to get very vocal and even needy when they are in heat. Ask who every you got the cat from if she has been spayed. If not then get it done ASAP (after she is done with this heat cycle) They have low cost programs through your local SPCA
