well there is really nothing that you can do, other than let her figure it out for herself...have you told her that you were just checking to see if he would cheat and that you are not interested? Also if she has stopped being your friend over a guy then she wasn't really your friend to begin with. my advice is to just let her do what she wants and she will figure it out eventually, don't get your self all worked up over it, it's not your problem. and what the hell is she doing with someone old enough to be her father?

wow-- first of all, i'm sorry about all of this. i think you should've first told your friend your plan of trying to figure out if he was a cheater or not-- and THEN have gone through with it, just so your friend knew already and when her man would've tried to come and lied to her, she would've known the truth.
as for now-- since it's went differently, try to talk too her. first let her understand how important her's and your's friendship is too you and make her believe and trust that you would NEVER do anything to ruin her relationships-- you would only protect her. also say how you would NEVER try to take her man, especially a 47 year old and that you know he's not a good guy-- and that she deserves much much better. just talk to her, and do all you can to make her understand. tell her that you wouldn't try so hard to protect her and do the things you did if you DIDN'T know he wasn't the one for her, nor is he even worth the time of day from her.
i hope everything works out for ya hun!! good luck and i hope i helped a little.

Why would you do something like that to your friend? If you suspected he was a louse, the proper thing to do would be to tell her kindly that you think she can do better. If you've seen him with other women, you'd need to tell her that too. But you trying to be the other woman to prove a point...bad, bad, bad idea. Now she's run into his arms because she thinks YOU are the jerk here. I know you meant well, and I'm sorry to say I don't think you'll be able to save the friendship, but next time, stay out of it. She's an adult and yes, it's icky for her to have a boyfriend that's old enough to be her dad, but it's her life lesson to learn. If you're gonna pull the trick you did in the future, you either clue your friend in or pay an unknown party to do the flirting and hide out with a camera.

Despite the fact you discovered the guy was a cheat (a 47 year old with a 19 year old - how shocking that he would cheat on her), that was a horrible, deceitful and immature stunt you pulled. Why do you feel the need to thrust yourself into such explosive situations?
Apparently your friend thinks you should mind your own business. Take the hint.

Yea, leave it alone. You already lost your friend over this guy why make things worse. She made the bed so let her sleep in it. Sometimes lessons have to be learned the hard way
