If there's a hole straight through the earth, from the south pole to the north pole, and you jump through it what would happen? would you keep falling forever, or fall back down when you get to the middle, or is it physically impossible?

eventually you'd black out, from the velocity, then you'd be burned alive from the heat in the center of hte world. Without that though, you'd keep going past the center because of the increase in velocity (falling at -9.8meters per second squared) until you pass the middle, then you'd be moving away, like when you throw a ball up in the air, you'd start slowing down when you reached the peak of the arc, some where very close to the opposite side, then you'd start falling back toward the middle, until like a pendulum you slowly ended up stuck in the middle.

Sounds good to me. Now we just need a physicist to come and tell me why I'm wrong!

well gravity would keep you in the center of the earth if it were possible. Because of the rocks that earth is made of, you couldn't possible drill a hole that deep. And if you could you'd melt/burn because the center of the earth is liquid magma.

let's just say if Superman tried it be for he knew how to fly he would just go to the middle of the earth and hang out with Elvis Presley (that's the only place we didn't look for him) this is because gravity pulls you to the center of the earth

Gravity and magnetic fields are two different things.I would guess that you would stop at the middle because I can't see falling "up".Of course,Science still hasn't figured out exactly what gravity is so who knows what might happen?

I've heard that you would stop in the center of the earth because that's where gravity would pull you.
