How can I stay motavatied to work out/eat healthy? I seem to be doing really good with eating right and staying active, but after a week I lose the motvation to keep it up, then gain back the weight. Also I find that I really can't control what I eat because i'm stuck home alone over the summer,so I am forced to eat whatever is lieing around the house. My parents refuse to spend any extra money on fruits and vegetables/ healthy snacks because they say "What you eat is fine, you just eat too much and don't exercise enough"But I have considerably reduced my portions and still nothing. They say that is because I don't exercise enough.problem is, I really CANT do any exerises as of now.Our local Gym and Curves both say you can't have membership until you're 16. I'm turning 14- don't say Im too young to worry because my body isnt done growing etc etc.I need to do something.I also dont have exercise equipment,so all i have is a bike and my feet. How many miles to burn cals on foot / bike? Help !

Diet and exercise is all that works. Even if you taking pills or on a quick weight loss diet...you still have to diet and exercise it says. So just skip the stuff thats bad for you. And start a food journal. Write down everything that hits your lips. Count cals or total fat grams. Keep cals between 1300-1600 and grams 20-30. Exercise 30 min. a day. Can be whatever you like..even walking. Walking is really good for you. Recommended by my dr. and I lost 100 lbs. on it. You can expect to lose 2-3 lbs a week.

There may be more to just what you eat and even a lack of exercise. There may be an underlying medical problem. The best way to sort these things out is to seek professional help. You may have an underactive thyroid which would then cause your metabolism rate to slow down preventing your body from burning all the extra fat your body consumes for energy. The good news if this is the case is that it is treatable.
You may not have the energy to exercise if you are carrying extra body weight. Try yoga. It will help you mentally and physically and put you in a better frame of mind to continue your program. As you get older you may thin out as your body grows taller and less wide. Make it a point to get your parents to support your decision to live a healthier lifestyle. Demand that they put more fruits and vegetables on the shopping list as you are a growing young woman.
Good luck and take care!

really diet and exercise is the only thing that works so you need to keep motivated. Ride you bike or walk 30 minutes an day. And eat healthy. Don't expect to loose 100 pounds overnight you should plan on losing an average of 2 -3 pound per week to keep it off.

well why dont you ride your bike or go running or walking. you dont need any gym for those. I ride 4miles to the track and I run 4 miles and then I ride back home 4 miles. drink lots of water. it helps you feel full more and cleans the body of impurities. I dont advise this to anyone but this works for me. I use a sauna suit for running about 2 times a week. it removes all the excess water weight. people will say you just gain it back, but for me only 50% comes back,. I can loose 5lbs in 30mins with this thing. like I said its not for everyone, if you do try it be carefull. dont run when its super hot out and dont over use it.

maybe you can go to the public swimming pool to get some exercise, and go biking every morning and afternoon. If you can't swim, you can run 1-2 miles and add up the miles for next couple days if you feel fit.
