I am Christian, and I believe in Evolution. I think you can believe in both. Obviously as a Christian I believe that God has his hand in everything, including the way we evolved. I believe that he created the world. I dont believe the Big Bang theory, or whatever it's called. I believe when in Genesis it talks about days, that it could represent a few million years. A day in the bible does not mean a day in our time.

You realise how stupid that sounds saying who believes in evolution it's like asking who believes in air. Evolution is a proven fact. Lets look at the evidence. Fossil evidence shows us creatures changing over time lets take the example of the ammonite a prehistoric squid that lived in a shell that became extinct in the Triassic. Now the ammonite started off in a shell the curled once just from where the squid came out and then round and back to make a sort of circle. Now as time went on we can see from fossils that as time passes the shell begins to curdle more and more until it becomes a spiral. Then this spiral begins to instead of being flat like before stick out in the middle causing a cone shape. This is evolution. Also if you expose a bacteria to antibiotics but not kill it will usual (depending on the bacteria some are more responsive than others) will develop a resistance to the antibiotics and so can't be killed by them and so becomes a different type of bacteria. This is evolution. Head lice have now done a similar thing as the most common active ingredient in head lice shampoo now has little effect. They have evolved. Also when Australia broke away from the rest of the world marsupials where the dominant species on the planet (fossils show us this) then as the rest of the world drifted away conditions changed and evolution happened and the marsupials where out competed and so are now every rare all across the world apart from in Australia where for some reason (conditions didn't change, smaller gene pool, less competition). Also sticking with Australia in Europe people have made alcohol for centuries and so have the enzymes to cope with the alcohol. However the Aborigines didn't make alcohol and so they didn't need the enzymes and so they didn't evolve them as the Europeans did so no today alcohol poisoning is the main cause of death in the Aboriginal population. There is the proof of evolution. Now then gravity we know is trying to pull everything into a signal point and we know that the big bang occurred when the universe was compressed into a signal point so logically we could conclude that before this universe there was another one and the gravity pulled it all into a signal point which caused the big bang and so logically we could assume that the universe is actually always in a cycle of contraction and expansion. We believe the big bang occurred as the universe is 3 decrees hotter than it is calculated it should be and this head could only have come from the big bang. Also using powerful radio telescopes a veil of microwave radiation can be detected just after the big bang which could because of what it is and how far back in time we are seeing could only have come from the big bang. Now the big bang created all the energy in the universe some of which quickly condensed into Hydrogen and Helium which formed the stars when the stars used all the hydrogen and helium they exploded in super nova causing the heaver elements which gravity then pulled back together to form the planets and the new stars and the starts are always in this cycle. Billions of years later on a planet called Earth in a pool of water a group of phospholipids moved to form a membrane around all the components of a simple cell this was the 1st life which then went on and evolved to become all the life you see today. There you go no your turn explain how you think we alll got here.

I believe that there is absolutely no contradiction between the Bible and Evolution. Unless you are a knuckle-dragging, mouth-breathing literalist, the first six days of creation could be interpreted as periods of time. Then what you have is a rough description of Creation's chronology.
After all, in the beginning was the void. Then God said Let There Be Light. That may be interpreted as the Big Bang. Then came the stars and planets. Then the animals, etc. etc.

Neither the bible nor evolution has given me sufficient proof to undeniably go "This is the way it happened." However, I do find evolution far more conceivable as things HAVE evolved such as plants to climate changes, and things like that. To me, this means that over a period of millions and billions of years it could have happened. The bible just tells you to have faith and believe this was the way it happened. To me, that is rediculous and I'd much rather believe in evolution for the time being and throw god and the bible theory aside.

Well, you see the Bible is just a book of stories, and A god that has been as unforgiving and murdering people that he had problem with, with a flood and the many times this God didn't show any mercy, WHY would you even want to follow such a God? A God that made this poor young girl that was married pregnant. To be judged and ridiculed, how kind is that the list goes on almost every story tells a story of some messed up God that likes to play with his peoples lives and feelings. Every story there is contradition. And look at how poor Jesus did everything for this God and then in the end when he has had to suffer such horrible pain and ridicule, when he is literally nailed on a cross even then Jesus cried out to him for help and cried to his God FATHER WHY HAST THOU FORSAKEN ME. WHY WOULD YOU WANT TO GIVE SUCH A GOD ANY AUTHORITY IN YOUR LIFE?

"your [sic] don't know what i believe."
Ok, I guess I don't.
"but there is one thing: I believe in God and the Bible."
LOL. Thank you for telling me I don't know you, then giving me all I need to know to understand your opinion on the subject.
I would ask you to refute the evidence in favor of evolution, but I know it will only be countered with the "God did it" mantra that comes up every time Christians and science come together. And stop with the "why are there still monkeys?" nonsense. Humans did not come from ape species that still exist on the planet today. They came from 'ape-like' species (Neanderthal, ect) that NO LONGER EXIST. QED?

Evolution is defined as change over time; or adapting to change. So when you think of it in those terms it makes sense and obviously we change and adapt to our society everyday. But I do not agree that people came from monkeys, that is rediculous! If people came from monkeys what about the monkeys today are they going to turn into people in a hundred years? I don't think so! I too believe in God and the Bible.

There is no "believing" evolution, because the facts and evidence are pretty irrefutable. I accept evolution as the best theory behind the facts and evidence. It doesn't exactly require faith, just knowledge and rationality.
Creationism is appalling and a mockery of science.

Good for you...I believe in God and the Bible as well...and I believe in evolution.
In God, ALL things are possible.
To answer your question: God created life and set the wheels in motion, under "auto-pilot" mode...just as God gave us free will.
The rest is evolution, my dear.

If you are really interested, here is a good starting point to learn about the universe...
http://map.gsfc.nasa.gov/m_uni.html
... and here is a good place to start with evolution...
http://evolution.berkeley.edu/
and...
http://www.talkorigins.org/origins/faqs-evolution.html
Just a note about your 'bible' belief... by that assertion, you are making a statement that the myths, superstitions, fairy tales and fantastical delusions of a tribe of ignorant, peripatetic Bronze Age goat herders provides for a more coherent understanding of life and the universe than does modern science. Are you sure you want to stick with that?
